By the way guys this is a cab and chassis frame... so the axle sits alittle farther back... the plan for the truck is to junk the flatbed and shorten the frame to put a shortbox on it... has anyone of the forums done this and have any tips of doing it... since its a c&c frame it has me puzzled

Why does it have you puzzled? Meaning what is different in shortening it than any other frame?

The cab and chassis frame is flat from the cab back and not contoured like a regular truck frame.

Its been a long time since ive messed with the Fords. It may be easier to find a F250 shortbed in a salvage yard and chop the frame off under the cab. That would have all mounts and holes lined up and you could graft it on to your truck.

So?????????????????

If you are thinking of shortening a frame you should have the know how or the fabrication skills to be able to figure out how to do it.

IIRC, the dually and C&C frames are narrower on them, than the pickup truck versions. IIRC, the frame on the C&C and duallys are 34" wide, vs 38" on the pickups.

The little bit I've driven a ZF5, I think they are comparable in shifting quality to the NV4500.

Oh my, don't tell Kyle that... he thinks the ZF5 is the best shifting transmission on the planet.

I've heard they are a really nice shifting tranny. The fastest tranny I"ve ever driven was a getrag though.

ZF6 are the cats meow to holding power and shifting fast. I havent driven a G56 BUT people who drag race can make stupid times and not grenade them.
