That adapter is pure sex. 8)

Also curious how you wasted an NV, that truck is too nice to beat on that badly.

It doesn't take much to kill an NV4500. We have killed many over the years.

Ive never had luck out of them. We had two plow trucks with them. They ate a transmission every winter trying to plow with them.

They suffice for the lower power stuff, but some guys upgrade to NV5600's. I bought three "core/parts" NV4500's from a puller as he went to a NV5600. I've had good luck with the one I built, but everyone has their preferences.

Unfortunately, its getting harder to find US made parts, for example, the countershaft. I thought about having mine cryo'd just to give it a chance...but its holding up for now.

All I can say is stick with OEM stuff. Aftermarket countershafts are crap.

What I did is get a GM NV4500 out of a Herr's potato chip truck. A yard had 20 of the truck chassis laying around and I looked for an NV4500 with fresh paint (recently replaced) and found one that was a genuine replacement new venture with next to no miles on it. Paid $500 for it and swapped the diesel mainshaft, input and tailhousing into it and I have a good trans for now. Good thing about a gasser trans is it hasn't seen the shock loading like a diesel trans has. Plus, most upgrade the input, mainshaft and tailhousing anyway so there is no point to even buy a diesel trans these days.

Just a taste ladies and gents. Went through another transformation from Oct-June. Blew the first engine up when ring end gap went to zero on a long uphill full throttle pull so I built a new engine and decided to do a 3 link front suspension on Fox 2.5 coilovers. Ride quality is phenominal! Rides like your Mother's Buick LeSabre and still corners nicely with minimal body sway. Also put bucket seats up front, built a custom radiator support, shortened a 3rd gen IC to fit, another custom bumper, window tint, axle dump exhaust, piston nuts and some other things. Looking to add Trucklite LED headlights, leather interior, ladder bars and bedline it in the near future. Engine made 512hp and 1008ft lbs to the rear wheels back in June on an unloaded dyno and a huh? tune. Want to do a steed speed manifold and compound it with an s475 and an external gate.

I was noticing the mirror brackets too, they look great, a rugged yet simple bracket that fits a 1st gen perfectly.

Just enough power to break everything behind the crankshaft.

Yeah they just look "right". I have the chrome mirrors right now, and would really like to get the bigger tow mirrors back on. But don't want to drill more holes in my doors. That set-up is the perfect fix for our trucks.

I'd gladly pay for your time and materials for a set of those. PM me if your willing to build another set.

Me too. I hate that my chrome mirrors wont allow me to see around our enclosed trailer. I also hate 5000 extra holes. Id be intetested in a set as well.
