Do you have the diaphragm style vacuum pump? They've been known to send their bearing cage into the pan before.

Since that's a non-IC'd engine that's probably the cage from the Vacuum pump.

Especially if have the engine out, pop the cover off and check the gear teeth. Chances are, you're fine.

I'm working on gettin my engine back in a pile today and was wondering if I skip one tooth and then retard the pump will it be close to stock timing still? Want to start close to stock so I can see how much each mod helps

Test fitted the engine this week. After putting 2x4s under the front cab mounts engine and trans went in fairly easy.

Had to move the crossmember back and then had to cut out a notch in it to clear the fuel tank. So I welded a couple pieces of scrap to it to strengthen it back up. Having the front cab mounts on 2x4s also let me get the bolts out and back in. Drilled the holes with a right angle drill and a cut off drill bit. All in all wasn't to bad. Now just need to get some body work and paint and get it all back together.

Well guys it's like this in the last year I have quit farming and started a 8 to 5 job and got married and had a kid. So needless to say the truck has been on the back burner but I am planning to get started back on it after the first of the year.

I was wondering the other day what ever happened to this. Glad you still have it.
