Yeah I'm probably just gonna throw on that ag breather now. I glued that gasket to the cover last time, when I first installed the engine. The funny thing is it almost feels like its swollen up,almost gummy. It may be the fact it's oiled up too.

I've a plan that I just came up with....I'm going to take the ol mig welder and add "teeth" to the flang, around the bottom edge and the sides. Not much,I'll grind down the spot welds till they're just a small bump and space them about every 1/2" or so. That should get its attention

Anyone have any ideas on the gov springs, opinions? :)

Oh....and that factory lift pump was only going half stroke. Near the bottom it was sticking.....and still making 60psi. Bad boys are what they are. 8)

Then that means they are pretty dang loose then.

I did a tremendous amount of searching and looking last night that yielded a bunch of different opinions....even a all about the feel comment.
Guess I'll run it and go from where they are.

When it is running the centrifugal force puts more tension on them so they aren't as loose then. If you make them very tight you will have a very touchy throttle that can be hard to drive.

That's what I figured on the tension. However that touchiness thing is a good heads up....thank you. I'll definitely leave them loose.

I'm back on it,went 18* on the timing. I know I asked but this little truck doesn't weigh as much as what it was originally in so I figured I wouldn't loose enough bottom end to even notice. Plus my injectors will be going in,in a few weeks.
Anywho I got it to this
Image
That plus the factory set should be 5.2 mm,that is 18* by the links I posted earlier.

Now I have to get back slinging parts ;)

It cranks and runs, drives down the road really well. I'm loving these gov springs too

Fuel pressure is off tho. This adjustable valve won't adjust and raise pressure,I'm investigating that now

When the say adjustable the mean it's adjustable for about 5 more lbs than the preset. Freakin people, should have just saved the 55$

TSC and other ag places sell fine 0-100+ pressure regulators for farm sprayers that work just fine and they are like $15. Just place it somewhere on your return line from your injection pump.

KTA thanks for the tip :) I have a bypass regulator on the dodge for dropping pressure from the hplp on it. As luck would have it I just purchased a 12psi pump spring from Eric (the hungry diesel) to be rid of the regulators clicking under my hood. The dodge is quite running enough for my ears to pick up on the noise from it,however on the chevy....not so much. It's a loud basturd, and I shouldn't hear the regulator

The truck is running way better,faster/stronger in every way. Only thing now is the trans is shifting at the wrong time and it's feeling lazy as it shifts. Typical of adding power to a truck,I think I'll be messing with the trans to take advantage of it.

Another thing on the fuel supply, even tho I've a new pump and over flow valve I don't seem to be building pressure with rpm rise. Actually I loose most of my pressure. I Had the idea that as rpm increases that pump should pass more fuel along,is this wrong?

What are you running for supply lines from the tank? Sure its able to keep up with the flow?

Half inch from tank,3/8ths return. One thing I haven't thought about was the fuel water separator/filter I have in the supply line. It may be doing something nasty to the flow. I may have to just put a screen in line an try it.
