Had a few hours to kill today so I figured I'd check the valves, thought that may have been the high rpm rattle/knock I've been hearing......nope,no such luck. Looks like I'm fooling with the injectors next.

FWIW, I would get a turbo from a different vendor. My buddy got screwed on a brand new turbo from BD.

Not to worry,I don't have that kinda money to spend anyhow. Not all at once when there's to many other things that need addressing.
I have to find that noise first.

You just go ahead and put in those big injectors and turbo. That noise will show itself in short order after that.

Pete the more I pay attention to the noise the more I believe it is the injectors. It actually hazed an missed for about 5 minutes today idling while I moved cows into a new section of feild today. I was walking up to it and heard the usual tapping only louder.

Imo I wouldn't want a super b special if you want to show up newer trucks, too laggy. By the time you are spooled, they'll be gone. I'd add another turbo, would be much more fun on the street. And it'd be cheaper, as I'm sure you could do the fab work yourself. I agree with 5x18's though. Awesome truck btw.

Started swapping bodies and setting pop pressure tonight. I got 3 done in about 1 1/2hr. Not very productive when you have to pull each of them apart 5 or 6 times to get them just right. Since the testers guage doesn't do bar or 5lbs increments I'm setting them all to 3800 psi. One thing I can say on this is those springs in the first gen bodies are weak as schit. I'm actually taking shims out when I use the second gen springs. I know it's not supposed to make any difference, everything is supposedly the same between the two except the inlet threads, but something is up.
Anyhow a pic of my work area :)

Yes yes, that's an old rusty vice table that the tester is bolted to, but I assure you the finish product is nice and clean. It also functions perfectly as well

I know it was said earlier by Pete that these testers where not the best, but after having one come with a bad gauge and the seller sending me another one for free with no hassle (while letting me keep the first one) I won't complain. These thing actually works pretty good.

At first I saw brake pads, and was like wtf. Then it made sense after reading that the brake pads are irrelevant to the post, and you just have a messy work bench. Now I want one of them testers

Dmann, that's the catch all vice table, that's where I go to beat the hell out of things  it seems my brother and I have no schits to give when working there
That's actually cleaned off some,I raked off bits of u joints and misc metal from grinding, sprayed it with carb cleaner and whipped it down with some rags.

The tester is pretty nice and is priced right. 124$ shipped off eBay. I now own two,I've yet to get a response from the seller on what to do with the one that has the messed up gauge.

I got the injectors ready as well. Now to find time to install them.

I see. Makes sense now. That's like the floor of my room. Except only clean new truck parts get to hang out there
