Shoot, you boys are just scairt! I drive mine up to 3500 all the time. I won't do it unloaded, I'm afraid it may pop something. ;)

Ellis, I was thinking of PATC, Transmission Center.

I run the dodge that way Pete.....with a trailer. It's easier on the trans and engine in the long run. No bogging the engine with the weird azz gear splits. I only do like 2800 or 3k tho.

I've kinda convinced myself it's not engine related so....I've been ugly to it again today. Nothing has changed thru jack rabbit take offs, high rpm shifts and trying to get a 3/4 ton ford to run (he didn't want to play). Hell I even did a john force burn out in front of the shop (easy to get it pushed to safety if I bombed the rear) and nothing happened. I absolutely could not make the 11" drum brakes hold 1600rpm in first. It just blew thru them

I forgot how much fun roasting a couple of 15" tires was....love the sound and smell too. The turbo singing and black smoke.....and then all of a sudden tire noise and smoke 8)

My mom called me a D.A. For burning new-ish tires tho

Made a bunch of phone calls this morning and spoke with a few different builders and remanufactures. I actually found one guy just south of Jackson ms and he told me that for 100 bucks he'll cut mine in half and see what's up with the stater for the stall speed being so wacked. Guy also told me that there's no way I was bloating/ballooning a billet covered converter with no more power than I have....he kinda hurt my feelings
He said he'd pull it and check out the flexplate before spending money.....of course I totally agree. He went on to say that if mine needs attention it could be a range of 100 to 400$ spent by the time I see it again.

Looks like it's coming apart soon.

Just call DPC and be done with it. It might cost more but you'd have the best converter in the country and an unbeatable warranty.

Depends on the flexplate. If it is busted then it's getting a 350$ one from ats, then I'll have to heal up. I can't drop that coin right now,my wife is about to worry the schit out of me wanting a barn so that has major priority. I'll have to scemp where I can right now.

On the plus side I can get an education on the internal components of a diesel converter. If it's bad then I get to see it split and fixed.....would you guys pass on an opportunity like that?

I'd drive a Prius before I bought an ATS part. Phil at DPC has a hook up on flex plates if the $99 old SFI cert. ones are gone on eBay.

Not quite that bad, but pretty close to how I feel about them.

Don't you run a shop? I can't believe you don't have take off tires laying around there! ;) I remember somebody on here works at a tire shop, they'd burn up 3 or 4 pairs of tires a week doing burnouts. That's way too much time on the tire machine for me!

Caleb I seen them on there. the ones that are .035 thicker, right? They're 89$ right now. Reckon it'll hold up?

If I recall correctly, BC never tore his up but replaced it for good luck. I bought one and the quality is good. It's the one that looks exactly like the factory one, but it's thicker and has that gold color.
