No pics but I did polish the air horn today,it turned out well. Tomorrow I'll try to get the wh1c apart and polish the front cover. Also I bought some of that 2k degree paint for the exhaust housing and manifold. I'm guessing we'll see how that holds up :? . I'm gonna sandblast the housing and manifold first then cover them thick.

Work is slacking up some.....my wallet won't like it but I could certainly use the slack time up on the engine.

Freakin machine shop is dragging ass on my dang timing case too. Called today and they haven't even touched it yet.....this is the reason I want a tig machine

Can y'all see where I'm going here
Image
That paint on the exhaust mani is that 2k° stuff for headers,I've used it before on some old hooker headers and it held up till the rust came back
I will never polish another intake housing again, next time I'll just paint it :?

Now I gotta call the damn machine shop and find out just how much longer theyre gonna hold my timing case ransom,I swear im buying a tig machine the next opportunity I find a used unit.

I know Caleb,I just want a tig machine. Nicer welds, and I believe the strength of the weld is superior as mig can produce air pockets, but in truth idk. Im a mechanic.....not a welder

The machine shop totally screwed me,they only welded the outside and not the inside  . Freakin morons, what kinda retard does it take to screw up simple directions. I'm so mad.......... :x

Post up a pic in a few.....so freakin screwed up it ain't funny.

Really tho.....it's too hard to unbolt the front cover, that was holdin the case together, to weld up the boss and crack?

I wouldn't have paid for it. I would have made them finish it while I waited and made sure I was real loud, especially if there are other customers around. WTF is it with machine shops? It always takes weeks and weeks to do even simple stuff. I'm so glad I have a buddy that owns one. I drop stuff off on friday night and have it done on sunday. If he's busy it may take a couple extra days. Sometimes I drop it off and we BS while he does what I need, if it's something small.

Gee, maybe this is what's wrong?

I can't help it, I was raised up a Dodge Boy and there is something wrong with seeing that color on that engine. :P
