Still have not done anything for the pressure lose while the engine is under load (from 50psi down to 30 and 35) but the truck seems stronger. Feels better from a stop but still lacking in the upper rpm range,2400 and above.
I found an inline strainer for gas applications laying in my junk drawer of the tool box so I'll be throwing it on in place of my filter under the bed.
I also got my injector tester in yesterday.....pulled it out of the packaging and seen the guage setting on 900psi, sob.

Bad thing is I'm getting a fuel knock here lately at idle, and figur it might be injector related.

I toldja about that tester! Seriously though, did you ever look for that thread?

I found 2 of them, 1 was yours looking for a tester, and the other was by BC when he bought his, viewtopic.php?f=4&t=9545&start=15

Yeah I looked Pete. I found BC's tread as well and this one looked similar in design and I figured I'd gamble. I got a hold of the seller and he's sending another gauge for it.
I did go ahead and try it out tho,it popped the loose second gen injector I had in it so the rest of the tester seems fine. It's a hell of a lot nicer to use than my contraption

I was looking at the pics in your thread when you built it. I was chuckling about it, but if it works then WTH, right? ;)

It works...far. You just have to pump and pump to get it to pop the injector your testing and you won't be doing any leak down testing with it like an actual tool. But if your in a bind or have time to kill to make one then it'll do.

Yeah but clicking links seems like a lot of work. That's hard on the professional nap takers

The fuel/water separator was the problem. It now holds 40lbs while I'm calling on the fuel hard. My idle fuel pressure still isn't any better tho. Looks like I'll be doing the regular thing that KTA suggested in the metal part of the return line. Anybody want to buy a tork tec overflow valve

How I deleted my fuel/water separator is I had one of these
Image
It has a very fine screen in it that should be able to keep crap out of my supply pump but the in and out ports were tiny. I knew it would slow the flow of fuel if I left it like that. So I drilled out both ports and the holes in the cross tube inside to as large of a diameter as I could get before weakening the assembly. Didn't want it to fall apart when tightening it up.

We'll see how this does once I get the regulator rigged up. Hopefully it works out.

Guys!?!?
I have a supply pump off a 2002 f250 7.3.....it has almost no volume but it builds a crap ton of pressure, reckon I could use it to move fuel from the tank to the piston pump?

I have been thinking on it and I went back thru bigblues tread again and he's using a knock off Holley pump to feed his junker drag truck.

Get 1 good pump, put 1 good pump on, run 1 good pump. See the pattern here? If the ferd pump dies can the stock pump pull thru it? Probably not, and you'll burn that one up too. Spend the money 1 time, on 1 good pump, and have 0 problems. MO, not H. ;)

I'm going to agree with Pete on running one good high volume pump

I ran one of those 7.3 pumps with a ve and 5x18's. I could pull it down to 14 psi, regulated at 17. Was making 37 psi with a 54 mm h1c. The pump was inline on the factory fuel line, bypassing the diaphragm pump. I think it would have done a little better with a bigger inlet fuel line to the pump. And the ve would not pull fuel through it.

A cheap and popular Powerstroke upgrade pump is the Walbro GS392 regulated down. I ran one in my old candy cane truck. It was a good upgrade.

Waterman 400gph ftw. It's mechanical and small. Requires a front cover change, and 5/8" line is recommended, but it'll keep up with any fuelling I think
