I had not the first clue about them Andy. I don't keep up with the new diesel hot rod products nor the competitions that's out there. Hell they just started running diesel truck down here.

I was going to tell Caleb to shush, but was too tired to think of a good reason

Just not a big fan of being made fun of due to height.

The diesel drag racing is pretty big in Florida and Georgia.

You don't have that "little man" syndrome do ya? I work with a couple guys who suffer from this and it gets old.

5'9" is average so I'm comfortable with it. My shortcomings in height is made up for in length

Seriously I ain't worried about that, there's way more schit to worry about.

Andy your built like a freakin Sasquatch, you can't relate

Not little man syndrome, but being teased for close to a decade for being short has a way of shaping ones peeves.

The shushing towards Caleb was going to be in good humor though.

As Ellis points out I'm a big guy so I've always been ribbed on for that and it doesn't bother me. I have guys around me that are short like 5'6" and shorter that just feel like they have something to prove. One guy at work wants to fight everyone no matter what you say or do to help. I normally only give my friends sthi and they all know its in good fun.

Ok cold start this morning was....unpleasant. I had to hold throttle to it to keep it running for a min or so. Not a big deal but not normal. With the repoped stock injectors, cold start was rough and smoky, after a few mins it leveled off and hazed till hot. Now I have a rough start but way less smoke and zero haze. I can deal with the start thing given there's little smoke and no haze. I like :)

Next thing I'm wondering about.....the tips of these 7 holers are way shorter than the Bosch oem. Like almost 1/4" shorter (that may be a slight exaggeration, but not too far),with that being said.....reckon I should add a little timing? Or leave it be being the smoke/haze output is so low?
I'm telling the truth here when I say that while from a stop it'll dump a rather large cloud,it's nothing like when they were in the dodge. This may be to the fact that this truck is an auto and never looses boost.

Edit the timing is at 18.5 now

Since I raised the idle on my 96 from about 680 to 780 rpm, I never have to touch the throttle to start it now. I mean it would start before I raised the idle, but took 4-5 seconds of cranking. And touching the throttle to start usually made a puff of smoke. Now it starts pretty clean. (For a knocking pos)

Remps....by knocking,what do you mean.

I'm actually thinking there's something funny going on in the pump. I can't realy raise the idle, that would be good cold but hot it would wind up being like 3 or 400rpms more. It does it now and hot idle is right at 800.

It's a worn out power plant :(

I'm just gonna let her eat.

My '97 is a pig to start cold. I usually have to step on it a little to get it to fire up. I plug it in and it starts ok, but if it's about 15* and I start it to leave work, it skips and smogs and pukes blue and white smoke for a minute or so before it clears up. Then it still hazes or smokes while I let it warm up. Eric is going to get a call about doing the injectors for it I think, as soon as I can start running the other truck and can down this one.
