I turn 1500 at 60 and 2000 at 80 with 3.07s, so says math.

If those numbers are locked in O/D, the math is pretty straight forward. Locked in direct would be even easier. I vote the 3.0x that you thought it was before.

Well I bought the seal and GL5 to heal up the pinion leak, true to the nature of my life I had no time to dig into the rear end to check the gears.
Caleb I checked my tach against a borrowed test tach and it was off some, refigured my tach and the rpms are almost dead on what you said. I've gotta have 3:08s ( chevy's favorite truck gear)

I'd have said the were lower just from the sound of the engine, it makes twice as much racket as the dodges cummins. Is that a p pump characteristic?

Checked the mileage again, not so good this time. Got 21.8 this time. I guess I was mashing harder on it or something. :?

I still want to go yo a 3.00 gear or closed. With my 3.25 gear its equivalent to 3.55 with my tire size.

I'm at 17-18 now with my fuel system issue and a very loose trans. Its shuddering bad when I stand on it taking off.

Well the wife and I went to Mobile Al tonight for dinner and loafing around in the 82. Got several WTH looks 8) and one challenge at a red light. Being I had the wife in the truck and not knowing if I'd tear it up,I passed. Then two lights latter the same @ss was revving his OBS Caleb special at me,puking smoke all over my truck......I took it
He'd have wipped me if he wasn't grinding gears in that zf5 ( oh....wait, that's just how they shift  )

I might have got him but not without cost.....seems I broke an engine mount. The motor has settled on the pass side and it is throwing some massive vibs out. Dang it :( I knew better :)

Now to go look for some poly mounts.

It was those stickers. Despite straight 4" exhaust, I catch people rolling up on me at stop lights looking for Cummins badges. They don't exist.

You gotta fly under the radar bro 8)

Nope not the stickers.....it was the noise. That crack head had followed me for awhile before trying me out :)

I know I have hard time backing down from a challenge, so I go the extra mile to fly under the radar. Who would challenge a dirty old farm truck?

Straight pipe. Mufflers are for old people

No seriously tho I just don't think that would do any good. The motor alone makes a huge pile of noise,I think there's something up with the timing. It has to be advanced pretty far,it sounds like a 24 valve,I kid you not. Problem with that theory is it was timed with the case pin and that thinger on the pump. That should have it back stock.

Mine is loud but I run a 4" muffler to help with drone since mine dumps at the ground in front of the axle. I think I need to pull some timing out of mine.
