Have you tried it without a fuel pin, or smoke screw all the way down? The little slide pin pops out into the fuel pin bore when you hit the throttle, looking into the pump with afc top off? That's all I can think of, I've never built a pump. That 24 valve looks good in there btw.

I have not pulled the pin but the smoke screw was all the way down along with the star wheel. Ike thinks it's the slide ring....I guess. His reply was "time to pull the pump"

It'll be coming off in the am.

Think I found the problem. The dang shut down lever is out of adjustment.

Least I hope that's all it takes to make it work right. I've looked at every thing else, compared with the original pump from the dodge and it all looks good.

We'll see I guess. Could this be the reason it was/seemed slow to rev up?

I would think so. It wasn't allowing the collar to full close the spill port. This would mean low power, slow rev...

Well that's what it was. It's running but needs tuning. I'll update when I have time to Dick with it again

Did a little more tuning on the afc and got the low speed power where I like it. Now it's just the top end/high rpm that is screwing it up. It is throwing the fuel....I see the brownish black haze, just don't feel the go.

I'm thinking when I build the pump I might have fudged up and installed the non intercooled timing spring.....it was longer and stiffer than the intercooled. So maybe it's holding off my advance?

A fuzz more tuning done and I actually got a little more travel out of my throttle. It woke it up a little more but.....I believe there's more to be had. I feel the timing is still funny
