My advice is to use the old cab to mock up all your mounts and brackets. Its much easier in my opinion to get all drive line together then set the cab on it. You won't have to worry about damage to the fresh cab either.

I hear that. When I have time to work on mine I have no parts or money. When I have parts or money I have no time to work on it.

Yep,it'll happen. I "need" this truck,I've had my heart set on one of these trucks for a long time. First of the stacked headlights, silverado, manual windows/locks,a/c and so on. only thing that has kept me from it was my thoughts of a diesel conversion. I'm tired of gas burning engines, don't want to use a choke,or pump gas pedals. Don't want to screw with fuel injection that takes twice as much work to tune and would still get turd mileage

What color would be good on this thing....besides the tan ( :puker: ) or black? The body of the truck is to be silver might be two toned with a touch of that new Toyota blue....idk. I had thought about Chevy orange but that might get me banned from here

You do yours and I'll see if I'd like it.

Ike the thought of ford dark blue did cross my mind.....pretty close to purple

I'm still liking the orange idea......polish the timing cover, valve covers, intake plate. Also strip the paint from the pump,v/c pump and clear them. I'd go so far as to blast and paint the exhaust manifold and strip the paint from the injection lines. I bet it would look good

Don't disgrace it painting it orange. I've leaned hard toward painting my engine bay black and engine plum crazy purple and black.
