Well....I don't want to run an electric pump alone and I don't need it kicking the bucket and causing the piston pump to starve for fuel. Dilemmas....
I'm gonna study on its some more...after the bypass reg is on and I actually find out what this piston pump will push.

Ok Ive just about decided that the high rpm rattle I'm hearing is the piston pump. It's like its floating on the lobe of the cam. Its a really loud slap, and only about 23 or 2400rpm.
It's coming off I guess and I'll be running the powerstroke pump I have for awhile,it really pains me to put it on the truck too

Looking on eBay I found this one

http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item.vi ... 1492488385

Universal Walbro High Flow & Pressure External Inline 255LPH Fuel Pump GSL392

From what I've read looking from forum to forum, some are having good luck out of them. Have yall heard anything negative?

Yeah, you said you were going to put that ford pump on. Not only is it negative, it's also depressing. :(

Just enough power to break everything behind the crankshaft.

Doesn't BC run that or something similar?

I know but it's what I have now. Since this one I found is similar in design,I can build the system like I want and after Christmas I can buy that fancy one.

Well the ps pump is on and the piston pump is gone....I ain't happy. It won't hold but 35psi when I'm in the throttle and it'll push 60 at idle. I'm gonna belly up to an airdog :?

Edit:
It actually acts a little better than the piston pump out on the road.....psi recovery is a lot faster. I just got to the house and put a hose pincher on the return line to the tank, just to see what more psi would do. I jacked it up to 70psi and only had it drop to around 55psi. I think my next item to play with is that overflow valve....I'm gonna delete it and run a boost sensing regulator I have on the dodge. Both times I've screwed with fuel supply,Ive ran into problems keeping it where it is at idle, when I really want it to increase with engine rpm.

Oh and my noise is still there, looks I'll be following Alice's rabbet down the hole

Before you jump on an air dog look at fuel lab.

Andy I'm going to fool around with that reg idea first then move on to another fuel supply. I like what I see there but I ain't crazy about the price at all. Schit is high

Yeah they are higher but I've yet to hear of a pump failure.

That's what I want to go with when I do the lift pump on jaeger
Ducati- professional nap taker, and thread derailer extraordinaire
Brownie: 80 dodge heavy half. Ghost cummins under the hood, and some sinister plans
The Roo Hunter: 93 w250, lifted, 2 whistle machines, and a bunch of other go fast goodies, uhh..... not there yet
Jaeger: 12 ram 3500. Lifted, exhausted, and fed an excessive quantity of air
The Huntress: 02 Jetta TDI. No muffler, egr, horsepower

Well I'm buying up new supply lines for the chevy and the dodge.
Image
And an assortment of 1/2 compression fittings and the stainless air brake line inserts.
Image
It's not the cheapest way to go for line but seeing the rubber line I have, connecting the metal lines, swell up I figure this won't be. :D

1/2 inch tube is only 3/8 inside you know. I found that out when I did my truck. I went with 5/8, that's about 1/2 inch inside. Stuff works great though, I love it! 8)

I know,I don't figure on needing any bigger tho. I'll be running the largest electric pump I can find as a pusher and at crazy pressures. It should supply enough fuel to let the engine get enough fuel to twist the wimpy frame of the truck in half. Time will tell I guess :?
