That is very reassuring for certain!

Just sent DPC an email. I have some questions regarding the reman single disc, kinda wondering if it's the same as the super or just warmed over stocker.

I know at one time the junker drag had a flex plate stiffiner on a stock plate. Basically it was another stock plate that had the outer edge turned down to sit flush in the stock flex plate.

I got the flywheel in today. Pretty beefy piece, way thicker than what I remember hanging off the engine now.
Next to the kershaw knife blade.

I guess I'm gonna pull the trans and buckle up this flexplate, then run it till I make up my mind on converter. I emailed the DPC folks and liked the reply I recieved so I'll probably just go with them. I just need to decide to drop the coin or back up totally and punt the whole truck. I'll be super pissed off it I drop 500+$ on fooling with converters and it still be slapping/knocking/ticking.

That's not the one I had. You may want to watch bellhousing spacing in there. I think fatty and BC have that one.

No I have one from PRW. It did require a spacer on the bell housing.

I made mention in the bs tread that I've found that the number 4 injection line on the ppump is thumping HARD. So hard in fact that you can feel it all the way thru the line even by the injector. Idling cold the engine, while cranky,is rather smooth but as it heats the idle turns choppy. You can hear it lay off on one cylinder. Also the tap/knock is happening sooner in the rpm band, off idle and while applying any throttle. It's in the pump. Damn.

So I was thinking that I'd try to open it up to see what's happening in there and try to fix it. Then I thought about tearing down that 3/4 ton 95 I have and just stick its motor in the chevy....since this one is being a pain in the ass and I have these injectors and springs already. Plus I have my fuel system bought/ready to be installed to feed the ppump setup. Problem with the other engine is.....347k on the clock and absolutely zero funds for a rebuild.

The next thing I've pondered on was the 24v......and ve'ing it. I've been wanting to do this for awhile but......I have all this freakin time and money in parts for the ppump 12 valve that I'm torn on what to do. Bottom line is this engine in the chevy is sucking hind tit and I'm tired of dicking with it,it's gotta go.

All that being layed out there, let's have a vote, conversation on which way to go and which way would cost the least.
Only one thing stands between a ppumped 24v.....600$ worth of lines.
Ve'ed 24valver or old raggedy ruddy poot 12valver warmed over with my current parts.

I'd have to do a P-pump 24v myself. Watch the classifieds on CompD for lines.

If either of the two pumps I had were in better shape,I would Andy. This one has issues and I would hate to go thru all the problem with a 347k pump.
It's just too much risk/questionabilitythere,where as I have a rebuilt ve and I have to buy the 3$ X 6 timeserts. I already have the timing case and cover as well, and Ive contacted Eric about $ on having the 24v injectors massaged/setup for the ve.
I just feel that the ve just produces all the power I'd ever need. Honestly I just want my schit to run right

A 24V VE would be cool too. What are the plans for the engine in the truck?

What's that I hear? Carbed SBC?

Issues like this would push me into a gas truck for a Sunday driver.
