Bigblue was running 24* as the first timing set. Based on what he has ran and done,do you think that 16 or 18 is a bit conservative being this thing isn't haulingor working?

On stock sticks I font know if anything over 16-18 would help or hurt. The only real thing that truck does is race though.

True, but he ran it on stock sticks to. I was just looking thru his tread again to make sure I was remembering correctly about that.
I'll be (eventually) installing my 7x10 honed tips on some second gen bodies. Then installing them in this thing.

I don't know. My personal experience with the P7100 is limited. I've only played with them a little.

The truck goes under the knife tomorrow,it puked oil this morning at the shop. It had a right to after I ran the schit out of it seeing just how fast it would go in the 1/4 (predetermined area). Ran it twice once from an idle and once boosted to 5psi. Nothing broke as its weak as crap  and no I won't say how it did till later on. Let's just say Ive had v6 s10 that were faster feeling

That's probably where I'll start then,I've talked to a few guys down here and most said 16 to 18. The ones that said 18 talked about gear lash and other non concerning things.

If you want technicality, 6.4mm of lift. At least, that is what I assumed when he said 6.4mm

I was going to say 16 or 18 myself.
That pop tester you bought, isn't that the one somebody on here bought and said it was a cheap POS and didn't work too well? Might want to do a search and see if you can find it, maybe I'm wrong about that....
As for finding TDC, I have a block that bolts to the rocker arm and holds the valve open. You make a pointer for the balancer to locate your marks. Then you install the block, turn over until piston hits valve, then mark the balancer at the pointer. Remove block. Turn past TDC, and install block. Turn back until piston hits valve, mark balancer. Remove block. Measure distance between marks on balancer and mark the center. You have true TDC. You can also screw down the valve adjuster to open the valve to stop the piston, but that's not as accurate IMO.
I just make a good mark on the balancer and leave it there.

Just enough power to break everything behind the crankshaft.
