To update, I used 16 blades to make 4 cuts, only to find they had broke the A-arm before and welded it back together. So I am picking up front end parts from Moeller hopefully soon.

That said, my favorite parts guy sent me this:

HE351CW. I think I might build a controller for the wastegate thingy.

Also buying new tires after I get the front end rebuilt. I need tires by winter so the front end is important. If I can't get to Bryan's soon, I am buying new upper control arms. Not a $200 bill I want but I need to. Going with a 275/60/16 Toyo Proxes ST2. 2" shorter than stock but much wider and will go good with the drop the truck is receiving. I dont do highway driving a lot but it is not as low as a stock tire 4.10 equipped truck

I ran that size tire with a 3.55 gear and it did fine. My speedo was off 6mph at 70.

Nope. Not going this year. Something about not killing me for 5 years? My wife says we must celebrate.

Original plan was NHRDA World Finals. We were to visit friends and family but babysitter dropped out at the last minute

That and I need to see a doc on Friday. I'm having issues that my 26 year old body shouldn't be having. If I was forty you would be saying its part of getting old. I ended up in the ER with severe back and lower abdominal pain this past Saturday. They gave me some tremodol? Ultram, a anti inflammatory, and another pain med.

Sorry to hear that Jon. Looks like a lot of the regulars won't be there. Get yourself well so you can fight off the wife when she changes her mind about killing you.

Thanks to Eric for the new lift pump I just bought this afternoon. Good thing too. I have been smelling fuel every once in awhile. Today I got a big whiff of it. Lift pump looked wet but nothing else did. I crawled under the truck and sure enough, the back side of it looks likes its leaking. No extra oil so far.

I also have gauges, newer tires, and waiting on my control arms. I bought a completely new set on Ebay. It was estimated to arrive today when I bought it last Monday. Well, the guy just shipped it yesterday. I will let you 2wd owner know how it looks. I don't expect too heavy duty of parts considering it was $250 for the pair.

I also scored a set of Marine 370's used for $150.

October 28th is a drag race. I plan on being there!

So like I mentioned in the BS thread, my turbo decided to clearance the housing for a 60mm upgrade. Well, I decided to install the HE351CW I picked up from Nixon.

Torn apart to clock the housing
Image

Now came time to test fit. Since the manifold uses 4 studs and the turbo only uses 2, I drill the upper set of threads out in the manifold and bought 2 M10x1.50 bolts. I think the length was 40mm. When holding up the old studs to the bolt, they are the same length, from under the flange to the tip of the bolt.
Image

So much easier mounting this turbo. You don't have to fanagle a nut up against the housing with the top 2 bolts. I can easily get a socket and ratchet on to all of the fasteners.
Image

Near final setup. I am waiting on a 4" V-band flange to weld on to the downpipe and I am getting a 3" pipe from work to go from the turbo to the intercooler. I will get proper boost couplings here next week.
Image

I have a Hungry Diesel lift pump and a 3800rpm spring waiting for me when the post office opens on Tuesday. I also have Isspro gauges coming. Once I get those installed, my marine 370s are getting installed.

Till spring. It shifts real firm now with the raised line pressure and tractor fluid. Once the H1C spools from a dead stop to WOT, it breaks the tires loose right before the shift into 2nd. It will shift, bog slightly, and end the fun.

Due to Paypal being a lil female dog, all of my parts were shipped to my old address. I got paypal straightened out on Friday but not before the damage was done.

So I have in my hands, my Isspro EGT gauge. Sitting at the post office until tomorrow is my gov spring and lift pump. Enroute is my Isspro boost gauge. Thanks to Eric and Isspro, the gauge should be coming to MY house.

Now I am waiting on that stupid flange to weld on my exhaust.

Got the HE351 on and the boost gauge rigged up for now. I am making a plate and relocating the Message Center. I may swap places with the radio (to get Din 2 sized headunit) and make a custom center console. I have a nice idea running through my head.

Stock injectors and wastegate wired shut on the HE351: 27psi of boost and it lights a couple hundred RPM quicker than the old H1C. Now I am starting to blow through my converter.

Installed the Hungry Diesel lift pump today.

I bought some studs and nuts to replace the bolts. Glad I did, made it much easier! Only thing I didnt like was the line from the LP to the fuel filter housing needed some massaging to line up where the banjo bolt hole is.

Some impressions:

Boost overall is the same, low end response is improved at part throttle, and direct is the fun gear now. Before 2nd was the fun gear. I am not losing boost over 70mph anymore.

I did this last minute when I started smelling fuel when I would get home from work. The LP wasn't visibly leaking but it was wet.

This is due to the 2nd gen pump having a shorter outlet fitting. The hard line is then, by design, roughly 1/2 to 1" short.

1/2" too short is about right.
