Well, if you can't get it to work, don't pitch it.
I, or someone else, can make it work on another truck by not going hog wild on the opening in the next cab.

I think I have another cab I can cut you an even larger floor section out of, if that'll help.

Mark.

It's got to work for now, I made some strips to tie it into the rest of the floor, and I used some screws where I can't get it to stretch enough to weld it. It's not a permanent deal at this point at all. Mark, if you can have that floor out by the Iowa meet, I would be glad to buy it from you.

No pictures, but there has been progress. Installed all new brake lines, including the four rubber ones. New wheel cylinders should be in tomorrow. Also installed fresh 3/8" fuel lines. Need to get the little copper crush washers for the front caliper banjo bolts. Got the transmission mocked up with a spare case and extension housing, had to move the crossmember one hole back. No biggie. Hope to get a mount fabbed up and get the transmission and transfer case installed....

Philip, getting along good. Just finished up installing the NV4500 and NP205. Got the mount for the transmission finished up and installed too. Got the rear drive shaft in, its tight, but since my rear suspension has nothing for give, it shouldn't be an issue. The weather has been crap up until yesterday afternoon, and I was at Guard then. Hope to make some good progress tomorrow...

IMO, If there is not @ an inch of give in the slipper, you will be breaking something.

Yep better do something about that driveshaft. Add any weight to the rear axle and you'll be having issues as Mark said.

I did some measuring, seems to be about 1 1/2" of give left, so I threw it in. I guess I can take it out and have Sadlers shorten it a bit...

More progress made today. Got the steering gear mounted and drag link adjusted, trans and transfer case full of lube, A/C compressor and hoses removed, front half of the exhaust on, cab frame mounts bolted on, cab painted and floor sealed. Hopefully...tomorrow I can get the cab on.

As for the rear driveshaft, I did some measuring, there is still a fair amount of travel left, I measured exactly 1 3/4" of "inward" movement left. Should be enough for now.

Collapsed...

Bolted to the transfer case...

Got the cab on! It was awfully sketchy getting it up there, used an engine hoist, floor jack, two 12ft 2"x12"'s, and a couple ratchet straps.

Forecast looks good, 60% chance of rain tomorrow and that's it till the 14th.

I might actually get this thing done in time...

Pictures to come later...
