Well, haven't updated this in a bit, here goes...
Made a new fuel tank rear strap, fits very well. I did have to steal the other cross member bracket off the right side of the frame and install it on the left side as the original one was rusted away. In true first gen style, that area between the tank and the frame is getting thin, only in the area of the forward left rear spring hanger/fuel tank frame bracket.
Both sets of springs were cleaned up and installed, with new lift blocks, shocks, etc.
Made the trip to MMillers without any major issues, when I was there I finished installing the exhaust and tightened up the U-bolts again.
About a week ago, I was driving along and I heard a new rattle that was a little unnerving, discovered that the left front caliper key and spring wanted to not play anymore and the caliper had pivoted away from the rotor and was rubbing on the inner surface of the wheel. Got everything put together temporarily, but I did measure to see what size of oversize key I need....well, none. There is 0.280" between the key and the caliper, so I am replacing the calipers and caliper supports. I found some NOS caliper supports and Bendix reman calipers.
Always something
