D&C...I think I found the needed parts locally for $30.00 but I really appreciate the offer.

Thanks again, Grin

Finally back at this thing again. Removed the rear suspension preparing for a D80 swap. I'm going to set it up for 3" springs.

Waiting on U bolts and rear disc conversion. Got it cleaned up today and hope to paint it tomorrow. It also got new bearings etc. and rebuilt the posi.

I also found a high mount A/C bracket at my local JY. This one has different part numbers than what I found online.....but it will work and hopefully will allow the engine to move a bit more to the passenger side.

This setup requires using the water inlet that is on the donor.

Moving along...I should have all the parts for the rear discs tomorrow so I gotta figure out these leaf hangers. I want to use 3" rear leafs so I have to swap to later hangers, which are taller sooooo.

Sheesh, I need to get a grip!! Nothing major but I thought it would be worse until I got the glove off.

That is why I usually don't wear gloves. Was it a hot rivet or weld slag?

I thought it was a grinder burn. You gotta watch those 4" suckers, they twist real easy sometimes. I saw a guy do that with a real heavy duty 9" grinder a long time ago, I thought he took out all his veins, it was nasty. When he came back to work the grinder had a big red circle with a line thru it and his name inside the circle. He didn't think it was funny, but we did.

Haha, you would think they would come out with a grinder that had a better place to grab hold.

Mocked up the discs today and got everything painted. Of course now I've read a few posts here and there saying the e brake calipers suck. Gotta love it.

Also picked up another block. This will allow me to continue arguing with the engine and I can hang it over the side of the frame. I don't have enough space to put a hoist in front of my truck in my blood barn.
It also allows me do build something....funner...while driving this truck. :D

You'd make better progress if you quit arguing with the engine and jam the SOB in the truck. All arguing does is upset you and lets the engine feel morally superior.

Welp, before I get to argue with the engine I have to get her back on 4 wheels. I'm using 3" leafs so that required hangers from a 78-79 F250 and a little cycling the leaf and some welding etc.

D80 is almost temporarily in...just have to get the other 2 hangers done. Lotsa thinking and a little doing.

Got the truck flipped around in the barn and picked up a spare oil pan so I could "argue" with the engine some more.

Image

The high mount A/C bracket netted me about an 1-1 1/4 passenger side and I can get more if I mod the lower water pump tube.

TC/Frame.....I can add back a bunch to the frame.

Image

Ordered new body mount kit so I can nail down cab position. Also want to try a set of 2nd gen engine mounts...just need to find them.

Wouldn't you think someone would be smart enough to put the factory washers in with the poly bushings and sell them as a kit? That was an aggravating $300.00 / 2 day search...blaa, blaa

Off topic but where did you get your welding clamp and how do you like it? Great job on the build!

Seems like they came off the Snap On truck but all those body repair web sites should carry them. I like them for clamping large pieces of metal to control warpage while welding....especially the thinner stuff.
