77 crew cab

Postby dustin_mud » Thu May 02, 2013 6:36 pm

Not sure this is the right place but what the hell. Have a chance to swap everything out of my 91 W250 into a 77 crew cab swb 4x4. What's the biggest Issues that I'll run into, and is there anyone who makes a motor mount kit to do the swap?

Should all bolt in. You will have to move the trans crossmember back one hole, figure out a wiring harness and use the 91 rad support or transfer the rad mounts onto the 70s one. Radiator cap will hit the inside of the hood (brace) so you will need to cut a hole in the brace for clearance. You already should have the Dana 60 front axle if it is a 4x4 crew cab... Use your gasser senders in the diesel for the gauges and swap the diesel 30 gallon tank in. That requires changing the gas tank crossmembers and massaging a small area of the tank to clear the back of the cab mount.

I'm pretty sure that covers the basics.

The engine cross member is the same v8 or diesel what frontend do you plan to run ? if your going the later sheet metal then you will have to change out your door's and Dash but everything will pretty much bolt back into place .
