RESURRECTION!

Postby CumminsCrazy » Sun Nov 16, 2014 8:27 am

Hey guys so I am in the middle of playing Frankenstein. I have a very long todo list trying to give life once again. I bought it a few months back for wayy to much money but you know even if i had a million dollars i would not be driving anything else. I love these old gals and love the adventure putting her back together has already been.

Truck;
1991.5
4x4
5 speed
single cab
unknown miles

Already done;
fender wells
alternator
battery
made interior livable but far from done
KDP
gaskets and seals (fixed most leaks)
master cylinder
nuts and bolts where there were none
lights
Tach, boost, pyro autometer gauges
fixed all gauges besides fuel (low fuel still lights up)
new paint
intake
straight pipe
new injection pump with 3200 gov spring, denny stage 2 pin
borgeson steering shaft
red head steering box

To Do's;
new weather stripping
dyno matt everything
new headliner
windsheild wiper (bottle, motor, lines) blades work
a/c (there is none)
heat blows kinda warm..
steering column
t-case needs rebuild

Fun Stuff;
turbo (garret)
complete suspension/steering build (ORD x- over, deaver springs, not sure about shocks yet, Jungle Jim full set up)
motor and t-case poly mounts
tranny overhaul or go with G56 6 speed??( not sure if this is doable or not??)

Well thats about it for now haha. Any input and thoughts on the G56 conversion? Having a really hard time with the steering column, needs rebuilt bad but cant find a rebuild kit and cant get my hands on a used one either.....
91.5, 4x4, manual, 3200 gov spring, Denny Pin, straight pipe, intake. New paint but needs some TLC

Any reason to use poly mounts and bushings? Word is that they'll transfer alot of vibration. Like Pete said, Philip did a G56 conversion, pretty straight forward, with minimal fab work involved.

I'm driving my old Dodge, with poly mounts, today after driving my RC, with stock mounts, for the past month. I swear I thought the old Dodge was falling apart when I got it started. It's insane how loud it is in the cab, every single piece of trim is rattling...

I never noticed before but after having the RC to compare with there's no doubt.
