Shifter and 3rd pedal are in. Got the master (ford) and slave (jeep) in. I dunno if I still have an air bubble or need to change bore size on the master, but I don't care for the feel of it. Seems like a lot of pedal travel before you start to disengage the clutch. It does seem to disengage fully as I can spin the rear output by hand while in gear with the pedal depressed. I'll have to see how it is once I get it running.

I have to go out of town this weekend so I should have been getting ready for that, but ended up dropping the tank and yanking the full pump then installing the draw straw. I'm using all -8 AN lines since they are easy to adapt to whatever.

And with the fuel system done, I couldn't help myself so ran some jumper wires around the engine bay and....

I got the ford oil pressure and coolant temp senders installed too.

Very nice. What did you do to get your gauges working just adapt the stock V10 sender's? Where did you get the input for your T-case?

The ford senders are normal pipe threads, so just some brass fittings to adapt them to the spots where the dodge senders were.

The oil pressure was 1/4" npt (dodge was 1/8")
The coolant temp was 3/8" npt (dodge was 3/4")

Input shaft came from a seller on ebay. Just searched dodge np271 input shaft.

Belt alignment on the a/c compressor was kicking my ass, so picked up this doohickey. Its still kicking my ass, but at least now I can tell what the adjustments I'm making are actually doing  I ended up starting over on the mounting brackets as I didn't like what I had originally mocked up.

Oh and the alternator lined up dead on the money (good thing too since I fully welded that bracket already haha)

A/c compressor mount v2.

Image

Its getting tight in there. Not sure if I'll have room to run the intercooler piping this way or not. Need to pick up some spacers so I can bolt down the compressor and find out.

Rear driveshaft from an extended cab, short bed powerstroke/auto/4wd super duty fits perfectly (it is ~2" longer than the Ex's)

Filled up the trans and transfer case and she has now made her very first trip via diesel power. Granted it was only out the door of the garage so I could flush the heater cores, but its something

On the fabrication side of things, made the tone wheel for the crank sensor to get the tach functioning. I still have to drill some holes and make a spacer, but the tedious work is done.

Printed off a wheel with marks every 1 degree. The V10 uses a 40 tooth tone ring originally, so that works out to 9 degrees between teeth.

Image

Half of the teeth marked. I rotated the wheel 5 degrees and marked all the way around again after this.

Image

And cut out. They aren't all EXACTLY the same, but should be close enough. I'm going to try it as straight 40 teeth and see if it works. If not then I'll knock off the 1 tooth like stock is.

Got charge pipes built, heater hoses routed, stuck the front end back together to figure out hoses, and some other small stuff.

I ordered hoses, belt, 4" exhaust, some misc hardware and wiring bits to hopefully wrap this up in the next week or so.

Radiator shroud/electric fan. If one doesn't do the job, there is room for a second with some trimming. I ran a single ford taurus version of this fan on my dodge for years and it did fine for what I was towing. This is the Volvo model which uses the same motor, but the blades are about 1" smaller in diameter. The mounting on this one is much easier to deal with than the taurus fan. Plus the Excursion/Super duty radiator is massive compared to the dodge one, so I doubt I'll have any issue.

Also, it turns out my t-square is no longer square, so the shroud is slightly not square now too
