Project sleeper

Postby NYCEGUY01 » Thu Feb 28, 2008 8:02 am

I am just starting a little cruiser project and have a couple of questions.

The truck is going to be a 92 stsndard cab dodge shortbed completely stock looking from the outside right down to the dogdish hubcaps and Ram 150 emblems.. Inside will have a 600hp p-pump motor.

Im starting with a 92 250 cummins truck that Im going to shorten and put on a shortbox so most of what I need is allready there. Im trying to make this go easier. lol
Not really a full on conversion but I figured Id post here as dodge never built a 2wd shortbed diesel.

The 1st question is how will the 1st gen truck accept a 95 p-pump motor ??

I know it will bolt in but what do I have to look forward to trying to get the tranny to shift( The tps wont bolt onto the p-pump like it did on the ve)
Is there a tps off a newer truck I can splice in ???

Anything else I should know before I get the tools out and start swapping ???

For 600 hp, get a 47RH. It will hold better than the A518 and have a OD over the 727. Plus it has lockup.

Got $$$ and time? I have everything to complete my mess, just need time and warmer weather.

Is it going to be a DD or a drag truck? If drag, gut it now and make a custom lightweight dash, roll bars, big brakes, 4 link rear, etc. If a DD, just swap adn go.

to drop a complete p pumper all you gotta do is swap mounts and bh adapters. I would got witha a 47 or 48 series trans for a drag truck. they hold alot more power and have lockup. this sounds like a cool project

What about the wiring etc ???

I know the p-pump doesnt have that little tps mounted on top of the pump.

Just looking for all the little differences before I get to swapping
