I figured it would only be appropriate to post and let it be known that there is a new Ford guy corrupting the site. Here are some pictures of my franken-ford creation with 1st Gen Cummins Power!

Wow, I've never seen rear blocks that high before. I couldn't see any traction bars either. It must pull enough axle wrap to buck like a wild bull starting out hard in 2wd on dry pavement.

The pictures were taken before the traction bars were built. I got antsy and couldn't help taking it for a little joy ride before it was finished

Yeah, the blocks are waaaaay bigger than I would like. They are 9". It's a budget build, unfortunately, and I couldn't afford new rear leaf packs...

UPDATE!!!

Here are some pictures of the Fummins as of late.

The bumper and traction bars (which you can't see very well) were both hand made by myself.

Do you have any pics of your rear drive shaft hoops? It looks like something interesting going on there.

No hoops. The traction bars are latticed like old school bridge beams. I'll get some more technical pictures as soon as I can.

Here are some pictures of the traction bars. As soon as money permits, I'm going to try to get some rear lift springs and reduce the block height to less than 6 inches, ideally. I also finished wiring the cab lights...all 7 of them.

You should straighten your axle vent hose. The loop is not a good thing. If it gets moisture or oil in it, it won't actually vent. It will act like a thermometer with the fluid going back and forth, and no air getting thru.

Just enough power to break everything behind the crankshaft.

True. The picture is decieving though. It's actually sitting well enough to not create a trough for moisture to sit, but the picture makes it look like it's pig tailed. Good point though.

Unfortunately my days of enjoying the glory of a 1st Gen Cummins are over...for now. I've decided to join the dark side and join the p7100 forces of evil after the thermal meltdown of my VE mill.

I'll still be popping in from time to time, but my VE BOMBing days are no more... I just want to thank all the great minds who offer their priceless advice on this forum. I've learned so much about this amazing motor and I'll miss the tuning simplicity of the VE pump.

Thanks again guys! But, it's time for me to join the "easy 500hp" club.

;)
