I love it! I have always liked S-10's and thought about putting a cummins in one many times. Sadly I don't posses the fab skills, or more importantly the effing patients to see something like that through.

No material laying around to build motor mounts, so I have to wait till Monday. Decided to start hacking all of the rust outta the cab and start redoing the rockers, and floor:

Truck is gonna be INYOFACE white, nothing as cool as a nice clean white truck thrashing in the mud:

You definatley have quite a project on your hands! What kind of horsepower will you be wanting to put to the ground?

What I want, and what I can afford/do is quite different. Haha.

Does 400-500 RWHP sound like an attainable goal?

I'd love to smoke my boss' twin turboed 24v dually, but I don't see myself making the power he is. Mind you my truck will be half the weight.

If you had 300 hp then you would hand him his ass on a platter. 4 to 500 hp will be costly. 300,,,, pretty cheap.

So 300 would be an excellent start, and allow me to work out any... uhh.. quirks, before I start throwing some cash into a bigger build.

Any suggestions for a manual tranny and tcase? I was looking at the NV4500 and 5600, but perhaps you'd know something better for my application.

Just remember, despite it going into a MUCH lighter vehicle, I'm gonna beat the crap outta this truck when it's running.

Throw a set of New Era injectors in there 435s' would work real well if you run an IC, that will get you up to 300HP with pump tweaks and 350+ with a bigger turbo. Personally I would go with the NV4500, more parts available and lighter than the 5600.

The 4500 was the one I was leaning more towards, I was considering the 6 speed mainly for top end. Nothing like chasing crotch rockets down in a diesel work truck.

hey PT WTF on the pering thing, keep that sh!t to ur self, maybe u should delete it.

Hey man love the project, I have a 2000s10 with an 8inch lift and 35inch tires. The thing is a peice of crap, I've rebiult the IFS twice and a bunch of other things. I've staired over the motor many of times thinking what it would be like to have a cummins with a SFA.

Best of luck with the project, if you have a bit of extra money see if you can get the head oringed and put studs in, that way you can run a lot of hp and not worry! Plus the motor is out now so it's easy. And for power try and find a s300 and put a set of new eras 435 injectors in or just spend the little extra and get a set of 6x16 injectors.

I'll see how this project works for you and maybe I'll switch my cummins into my chevy

Cuz I bought a cummins and it just happened to be in a dodge LOL

What do the S300s come off of?

I had nothing to do today, no metal, no gas in the welder, no nothing.

So with some elbow grease and a putty knife I started scraping sludge off the motor and tranny. I sthi you not, I dropped 30lbs off the engine weight.

I ran outta engine degreaser, so my fun is over for the night.
