I have a 1992 cummins that I will be swapping into a 1994 F350 460 gasser.
Question #1.
If I use the proper fuel pressure regulator, set for 15psi, can I use the factory gasser intank pumps?

Question #2.
My Dodge donor came with the optional tach and I saved all the wiring (saved the whole vehicles harness and ecm). Is there a way to use my Fords indash tach?

With the stock lift pump, you shouldn't need the pump in the tank. If you have an easy 15 psi at the tank you could actually skip the lift pump completely, but you may regret that one day. If you have a piston type lift pump, you can get away with running the pump in the tank but not at 15 psi, I'd keep it below 5 psi (measured at the lift pump). I wouldn't recomend putting any positive pressure on a diaphram pump (the stock one for a 92).

I was thinking of doing away with the mechanical pump all together and run a return style regulator. I just dont know if the gasser pumps will last using diesel.

Dakota Digital makes an adapter (signal converter) that can make your gas tach. work with your diesel.

Thanks, Ill check that out. Just got the Dana 60 under it this last weekend. Want to work out all the bugs in that before it sees more torque from the engine swap. Any idea about using my gasser pumps with a regulator??

#1 fassride.com makes a suction tube kit that u can cancel out your in tank pump And use the lift pump off the engine. The kit comes with instructions. It's pretty simple. I used it on my 2001 Fummins f250.
#2. Ford cummins.com helped me out with wiriing diagram and instructions on hooking up factory tach. Even though I haven't had time to fix mine yet.

Hope that helps.

For the tach I would get one from Auto World or Destroked. Fordcummins has terrible customer service. On the in tank fuel pumps, ditch them and use the lift pump on the engine. Less work when it fails. But I'd depend on the mechanical pump far more than those electric oe style units.
