Had I realized how my firewall modification was going to affect so many other parts, the dash would have never come out. And just because I cant leave well enough allone, while it was out i decided tan would be a nice update for the interior so I once again managed to make even more work for myself :bh:

Got a little more done this friday.Got the engine wiring operation just not loomed yet. Hooked up the fuel system only to find out the brand new regulator had a hole in the diaphram, so now waiting til next week to hear it fire :( .

Got a couple questions though. Can I simply jumper the fuel pump relay to work with key on?
Ive bypassed neutral safety because Dodge uses ground on the factory trans switch...How have others done this?

Thanks in advance.

Finally got to see that dash light up...looks pretty neat!!

Got a question. I've read that the governor increases pressure by 1psi/mph. If this is true, can't I use say... a 50psi pressure switch to activate OD at 50mph and a switch to shut it off altogether if I'd like?

Since nobody answered your OD question, I'll give you my limited knowledge on it. Yes, you can use a pressure switch for OD, and I've seen adjustable pressure switches, so you can tune it a little. I thought there were a few posts on the subject, a search should bring them up. And you can use a regular switch for a OD off, just cut the circuit and it won't shift up.

Congrats on getting it running! 8)

Tell me if I'm wrong, But I think I have the tach figured out. The factory gasser tach gets an 8 pulse signal from the distributor( or 4 from the crank). I have 2 extra slots machined into my damper. I should be able to mount a Pertonix Ignition Conversion pick up wired straight to the tach. This is what i was looking at. Checking out the installation manual at Pertronix makes this seem like an easy fix. May have to wire in a hidden dummy coil for it to work.Tell me Im a genius or an idiot before I order this .

This may be a little easier to make work

You just need to find the one wire that feeds the tach in the dash. It should work out the same.

At least with the dakota kit I could get rid of the crank sensor and wiring all together. Clean it up a little in front. Thanks.
