Generator Briggs Vanguard blowing oil

WellI dug the 7000 watt devilbiss out because Im leaving for Georgia tomorrow on a hunting trip, and want my fiancee to have it working in case she loses power while I'm gone. We used it for 6 hours solid just 3 weeks ago in our first power outage of the year, and it ran great.

Upon discovery of a decent gas leak under the thing this morning I also found out the hard way the cylinders were full of gas I took the plugs out and spun the thing for a solid 20 seconds then put the plugs back in. It started fine, but immediately started billowing white smoke from the exhaust, and puking oil out the exhaust.

What do yall think is causing oil to get into the exhaust?

It may just be an oil fuel mix that filled the exhaust from being overfull. Or if it has a crankcase vent system it may be coming from there also.

thanks Pete. It does have a crank vent that reroutes to the intake, it was kind of a pain getting the manifold loose to get the muffler off but ill do it again and run it a few seconds without the muffler, so as not to just dump more oil into it.

Something odd I noticed the second time I had the plugs out, the top of one piston was spotless, I mean not the first spec of carbon deposits. The other piston was covered in deposits.

Pete you called it.......it was way over full of oil/gas. Changed it with 10w40 and it's all downhill from here

Glad you got it going. It sucks to be without power. Power was out here for 8 or 9 hours once several years ago so I bought a generator. It's never been out for more than a couple hours since. Just when I get thinking I need to get the generator out, the power comes back on.
