I had forgotten about that!

I've actually been contemplating the Caltracs for a couple of years now. It's just that now I'm at a point where I've got to actually do something now.

Pete, I'm gonna be toying with the air pressure.

I appreciate the input fellas. 8)

Since the Caltracs use the same mounting points, or at least really close to them, they will be parallelogram. Being that, it shouldn't affect the suspension at all, since it's literally moving in the same arc as the normal setup.

That's why Caltracs are so good, there's no angles to figure out on them.

I've got to do something with my springs. I know the ends of the leafs have worn into the leaf above, on the front spring-packs. I could loose a leaf or two in the rear . .. . . . . . need to get new springs made anyway . . . . . . . .

Crap!

Well, apparently I can't launch at 2200rpm with 25psig of boost as when I hit it, the boost jumps immediately to 58ish and the wheels spin in the 60' (1.86).

If I launch at 2000rpm at 18ish psig of boost, there's a slight delay before the boost jumps to 58ish and with that, the wheels don't spin (break traction) in the 60' (1.72).

I also have the W/M come on a little later FWIW.

Didn't break anything, going to the beach tomorrow. 8)

I'm thinking of rigging a boost activated adjustable pressure switch that will illuminate a dash mounted light when I get to . . . . say . . . 20psig.

Sooooo, is this a good thing or a bad thing?

It's obviously good you didn't break anything, but what's the story/your opinion on the cam?

Well, I'd say my goal of moving the apparent power to the left a little has been met. I just have to learn how to deal with it.

My thoughts are with the VE being all business in the lower engine rpm, then this cam complements that by having the charge-air come on a little earlier (as compared to that 181/210 cam removed) thus making better use of the low rpm fuel.

I think it'd be wise to consider what you wrap around the cam (ported head, free-flowing IC & plumbing, turbo(s), fuel, timing, etc) when one considers the thought: "Your mileage may vary". Clear as mud?

Napa 701-1575 is the pressure switch I've got to activate my KSB at 20psi of boost. 20psi is about the max for it to consistently make and break. They make some that work for higher pressures, but the dead bands are bigger than I would like. I had mine on a Druck at work and it was changing states at 19.3-19.7 psi.

It is adjustable. Pop the rubber cap off the end and there is an adjustment screw.

You may find something that would suit you better on Napa's website, I had no luck at the store. They didn't even know they sold them until I gave them a part number.
