Most of the 14mm VE deaths can be attributed to either too little lift pump pressure, too much rpm, too small of an injector, or a combo of all three. I'd recommend an Air Dog 165 at least. A few years ago a lot of sled pullers were trying 14mm VE's, and trying to leave the line at 4K-4500rpm. That didn't work, but you can't blame em for trying. I know a lot of street trucks on here (KTA, BGilbert, Jayers, STOMP, and me) who have been running 14mm pumps for years reliabily.
1989 D250 2wd. Scheid 14mm VE pump and 5x25's, J&H Performance 47RH trans with Suncoast manual valvebody, dual wastegates, 62/65/14 S300, NX Dual Stage nitrous, 487 on fuel, 972 on the jug.
