It's developed a minor intermittent leak from somewhere, the throttle-shaft is heavily worn, the throttle-lever spring-loaded thingy is worn heavily and I'm within 0.05 (+/- 0.02sec) seconds of being able to average right at 7.99 or better in the eighth mile.
I've got a New (old stock) 12mm VE injection pump.

I've got a 3800rpm gov spring, a custom AFC cone thingy, two full and two incomplete gasket/seal kits in addition to an electronic copy of the Bosch: Diesel distributor fuel-injection pumps, Technical Instruction manual.
I'm gonna tweak the new IP before I install it and am looking for suggestions on how to make it a surprising upgrade.
I'm not expecting anybody to give up family secrets. I'm hoping folks might volunteer ideas . . . . . that don't work, and why.
I'm thinking of doing some porting/polishing, addressing the input shaft seal, a little of this, a little of that.
What'cha reckon?
