i am having a higher lift cam plate made for the ip. its kinda the same idea as a higher lift longer duration cam in a 7100 pump. the higher lift will increase fuelin and the longer duration will not only quicken the amount of fuel it should add more fuel over a given point of rotation. this is not for sure but i am just hopin

So where is the "cam plate"? Inside of the pump?

yes it is the round thing with six bumps on it that the rollers ride on and in turn force the rotor in and out to make high pressure

The vp 44 is a radial pump and it has 3 pumping elements. The VE is an axial pump and only has one pumping element. By design the VP can generate more pressure than the VE, so that is the reason they use it as more pressure means better atomization and more power. That is why everything is common rail now and they make tons of power and burn clean, they run LOTS of pressure!!

yeah but they sound like a tdi volkswagen  I think i will stay with the good ole low pressure manual injected engines. it seems like the p pump guys are still makin way more power than the common railers and it seems like the common rails tend to run alot higher egt??

Interesting thread, with lots of good ideas.

Don, let me know where you tap for the case pressure gauge. I may use one in the future, if for no more than MPG enhancement (which at $3.30/gal, would pay for the gauge in no time).

KTA- I, too, remember when Piers, et al, said 300hp in a rotary pump was undoable without reliability issues. Or lots of smoke and EGT. The HX40 and H2E were THE ticket in hot rod P-pump engines (350-400hp), and even then you had lag issues and bottom end smoke. It was said the VE could not move enough fuel to even spool it :o My, how times have changed.

MEby how much you asking for your pickup, and when are you finishing school?

Daniel

don i think 1000 psi would make a nice pump grenade i would imagin that 300 would be hard to see without some serious vane pump mods or elimation and one killer gear driven fuel supply pump.
