I built my own BHAF by stacking two of these: http://www.summitracing.com/parts/KNN-E-3681/
A blank aluminum end-plate, and the duct end of a regular BHAF. Used enameled copper wire to stitch the two filters together, and rubber contact adhesive with sheet-metal screws to attach the ends. Sorry no pics.
I picked up almost 4psig at WOT and gained a mile or so on the open highway per-gallon compared to running the standard BHAF.![]()
If I stay off dusty roads, It shouldn't be a problem in that regard. And I can follow instructions about applying the oil.
