6.7 springs won't work, it's a 24 valve. ;)

Just enough power to break everything behind the crankshaft.

At higher RPMs the valve and the piston will try to occupy the same space unless you have enough spring to keep the valve closed

24 valve engine. 4 valves per cylinder, smaller springs, about an inch in diameter and shorter than ours. Dodge went to 24 valve in '98.5 when they put on the infamous VP44 pump.

Blackvmax,
A better explaination is at higher Rpms the valves won't close fast enough and may hit the pistons. You also usually change to 60lb springs when you add an exhaust brake because the back pressure of the brake being on can hold the valve open with stock springs.

Ptoombs I'm not that dumb I know what a 24 valve is I was asking what you meant in your earlier post when you said the 6.7 springs won't fit you said"it's a 24 valve" what are you talking about?

Edit I read out of context I understand now lol

Ok I have heard controversial talk about the 4200 gov spring, is there anything I have to mod along with it? I plan on running an upgraded lift pump, most likely fass probably 35 psi constant maybe more. Do they make block off plates for the lp piston pump? Also I've watched the youtube videos for tuning the ve, pump clocking and fuel hat turn but I'm not real firmilair with the pump otherwise. I've searched to no avail so if you would like to explain some other tuning mods to a ve newb it's appreciated or point me towards some good tech threads thanks zeth

4200 spring is too long. You'll have to shorten it or mod the pump.

You'll need to loctite your front seal or add a retainer for that much fuel pressure unless you want your crankcase full of diesel fuel.
I run an Airdog 150 for a P pump truck on mine. Normally around 32-34 psi all the time. Seems to keep up with a good 12mm pump.

If you've got a local Case dealer you can get that for a little more than half that price.

The blockoff plate is just for a universal fuel pump mount, isn't it? As in you could get one for a SBC at Autozoo or grab one off any early EFI engine at the junkyard and it'll fit.

Levi, you're right. I just bought the one from Case because all the aftermarket ones I saw were chrome or bright anodized things. I painted mine Cummins beige.
