I don't have any sort of measuring tool other than a regular ruler, but the one in front of me is definitely more than 2.6. It's from a 205 pump and it looks to be at least 3 mm.

I have a pump sitting at the shop, I will get my dial indicator out and measure the plunger lift probably tomorrow to see what it really is, clearly I must be getting forgetful.

so this one that i have a 4mm lift will that be any good or is it going to be no good, i guess its got more lift so it should be better, but kta was saying somthing about it having to much lift

Now, how will this effect case pressure? I do not think it will do anything but from what I read in the VE Manual, the higher camplates are there for lower rpm applications.

BTW how much pressure can the casing take?

well i have had my test one up to 300 psi and its still in one piece. i am not sure how the plate will effect pressure i would imagine it wont cause any effect on case pressure but it might have an effect on head pressure. if it can incease head pressure without ill effects it might atomize a little better???maybe?

Wow interesting responses, keep em coming. I'll measure the one I have from the industrial VE I have apart right now and post in a couple days.

I measured the plunger travel on my pump using a dial indicator, and came up with 3.34mm I quess that is a 3.4mm lift plate with some wear, or maybe that is how much deflection it has from having to push the plunger return springs and the effect the roller diameter has on following the curve precicesly, but I checked it twice and came up with the same dimension. That is a 205 pump that I checked.

I'm not sure I measured it correctly, I'll have Matt the machinist measure it later to be sure. I came up with 3.50xx when measuring one of the humps from this industrial VE's camplate. I measured only the portion that moves up and down.. not the entire camplate thickness...? I'll have a 114 pump (90 nonIC'd) pump opened up within the next couple months, I'll measure it and compare, then report back ;) .

i wonder how much there is to be gained out of just .5mm of lift

I never did the math for .5mm, but I can tell you that 1mm will get you about 31% more fuel, with a 12mm rotor.

The camplate that I measured out of my spare pump has 3.2mm lift.
