Thanks. :)

I'm kinda pissed though, I put that 24v breather in my timing cover and apparently it's been feeding my air filter a steady diet of oily blowby. It wasn't a concern with the baby but I'm kind of expecting some supply issues with this turbo.

Dangit...

So your blow by tube runs close to you open element filter, if I'm right? I run a case and factory breather. I ran the factory one all the way back to the rear bumper. It was a first attempt at keeping tge oily mess off the truck. It only happend at hwy speed with the 727, and the engine screaming.

I have a Mazda diesel pickup that came from the factory with the breath into the intake. Rat built a nest in the air box. went to accelerate onto the hwy and it got runaway. Started creating so much vacume it sucked oil out of the valve cover.

Never have I been more afraid of 60 squirrel power.

It's not exactly close, it just hangs right in front of the cam gear pretty much. I think I've got a vacuum leak somewhere because it's a huh? of blowby, even at idle there's always a cloud coming from under my hood. I figure the vacuum pump is blowing air in it all the time.

I'll eventually run it's tube down by the other one, then I'm hoping to convert to hydroboost and just run a little electric pump off for the heater controls.

Could be. I've seen new diesel engines in many different apps have some smoke come out the tube when warmed up. Blow by is just one of those things I've learned to deal with.

Yup, I never noticed my blowby when it was spewing out under the cab, now that it's covering the air filter it's forced me to do sonething about it.

Anyways, some random pics I snapped throughout this ordeal.

First of all, new and old Steed. You can really tell that the corners are taller, and I'm sure it helps somehow but it damn sure doesn't help trying to clear the oil feed and water lines while sliding it over the studs. :/

Made another downpipe.

As it sits now. I'm not going to bother too much with making this look good, It'll be changed out with the blower piping anyways.

The turbo itself is pretty cool, I wasted ANOTHER pyro probe swapping manifolds but it has occasional spurts of working. Don't know how accurate it is but it seems right. Under basically any cruising circumstance that turbo runs at 0-2psi of boost. EGT is down 50* at 55 but up about 100* at 70. That doesn't make much sense to me but until I get another probe I'm not reading it as gospel. You've got to really roll into it to get over 8psi, but to be honest there's not much need to do that in any sort of driving.

The baby must have really been choking me down because this thing feels as peppy with no boost reading as it did with 5psi on baby. It just moves itself around better right off idle. In the 10-15 psi range on baby I'd give it the slight edge, but only because this thing just doesn't want to spool. It's no slouch, but the baby just gave it a bit more torque.

The highest I've seen out of it is 40psi so far. Just heavily feathering the throttle to knock smoke down some provides with about 10-15psi. It hits a sort of wall there, and only 3/4 or more throttle will bust it past. 15psi on this turbo feel like all 30 on baby though, don't get me wrong. All of this is through the nastiest of air filters as well, so it may improve.

I didn't have enough pipe to connect the DP to the old exhaust, there's about a 5" gap between them. This turbo whistles out the exhaust side like nothing I've ever heard, that seems to be a Holset thing for whatever reason. My S3&400's made intake noise like crazy, these Holsets seem to make their noise out the exhaust, which I freaking love.

Pretty happy with it, and I have no remorse getting it. I figure it'll pair right up with the blower nicely. 8)

HX52

Dunno if it's the "pro"52, but it's definitely a billet wheel and non-gated 16cm housing. It's one off a Volvo truck.

Stackx2 has the same turbo. It mic'd out to the same inducer/exducer as my hx55. But my hx55 housing wouldn't fit over the volvo52 wheel. Almost like the 52 had extended tip technology, or what ever you wanna call it. He ended up putting it on a 8.3l cummins powered motor home, which originally came with a hx40. It said spool up was pretty much the same, egt/boost were down, and the motor ran way better.
