I didn't expect those fans to be as permanent of an addition as they turned out to be. :P

Thanks, man.

I lied, Hiney, they may not be action packed enough for CompD but I know my old pals here will appreciate them.

And my airbags came in, they're smaller than I thought they were, making mounts are gonna be easy. :)

I hope that bag works for you. The small cross section may make it ride hard. What were you doing with springs? Removing all but 1 to use as a strut to hold the axle? I can't remember and didn't feel like going back 3 or 4 pages to look.

They're rated for 2500lbs A piece at 100psi, my front axle has 3500lbs over it so I'm hoping they won't be too pumped up. I'm actually thinking of having a spring shop bend me up a heavier set of main leaves to help locate it a little better. I've got poly eye bushings for it already.

I'm selling these paraboics and I'm going to need a leaf that is the right length for this height. The stockers ain't gonna cut it. :(

Welp, it's hanging under its own weight. I threw some temp braces on my mount to see how easy it would be to line up. Easy enough it turns out, though it would have been way easier if my mounts didn't weigh 70 tons, I had another pair of hands, and I had taken the fender and inner fender off to do this.

So be it, progress will now stop on this until this weekend and I will instead go home at 4:30 and watch Adventure Time every night like I would prefer to.

Dunno how well you can see it but here's the basics of the mount. I'll pull everything out of the way and see what I've got to get this turd mounted solid.

Adventure Time is queer. I much prefer Phineas and Ferb or Avatar.

What I mean on the bags is I had them on the rear of my truck to hold it up because the springs were sacked. I had 40psi in them just to keep the truck level, it raised it about 3-4 inches. It rode harder than hell, there was no give when I hit a bump. Larger diameter bags work better because there are more inches of surface area to support the load.
Something else that may help, I just remembered an article in the TDR mag about putting a Ping tank in the line to the bag. The tank acts like an accumulator to give the air more room to move when you hit a bump. The guy had about a 1 gallon tank on the line to each bag and he said it made a noticeable difference in the ride.

Pffft, you're a Nickelodeon man. I haven't watched them since they ditched Invader Zim, that was the last straw.

Googled her, Pete, gotta give you credit. I just assumed from the way everyone else looks in that show she'd be horribly disfigured like he rest of them.

Messed around some tonight, pulled the fender off and farted around. On some advice from Carl over on CompD was looking into getting some more belt surface on the factory fan pulley. I look at rerouting and whatnot but it's not a possibility with the non-AC routing. Instead, I got to messing about with the fan mount orientation. I found that it can be rotated and flipped all kinds of ways on those holes above it in the head. I flipped it up here and I'm diggin' it. Clears everything even better than it before and I've definitely got room for a Fluidampr if I wanna spend the $$. 8)
I'll probably drill out whatever holes I can in the mount since it was suggested I not redrill the head itself.

Got my forward mount done, 3" angle iron cut and hammered around the alternator mount. It's tough enough to support the entire blower and mount by itself easily and I can rock the entire truck with it. I've got to figure out a rear mount as the one I had on there still let it wiggle around a bit.

I've got a tight radius 90* I planned to run straight into the turbo out of the bottom. Just hack a hole and weld it in kinda thing.

I'm not gonna lie though, I've been thinking of trying to make my own velocity stack for the inside of that thing. I think I could chuck up a piece of pipe, cherry it up with a torch, then form the end out some to help the airflow out some. No real reason for it, as I doubt it'll make a lick of difference, but I really wanna try it.

Just like this. 8)

Kinda decided not to attempt my bellmouth, just gonna hack it off and weld it flat to the mount so I can ensure there's no leaks. Advice from Carl, K.I.S.S.

I lost some of my playroom when I was tweaking my mounts, I had a 1"x1" piece of block between my inner fender and the blower intake. That's not there anymore. Gonna have to do give the inner fender some sweet kisses from one of our hammers.

Proposed belt routing, I've got the screwdriver where I plan to run an idler pulley and I'll have another Dodge tensioner right around where you see me holding that one. I've got to get my idler in place first to make sure there's no contact between the belt and the radiator hose, then I can worry about preventing contact between the inner surfaces of the belt where the tensioner pushes up.
Image

Also, my crossover steering arrived today, it looks freaking sweet. 8)

Chassis Unlimited, I went ahead and got the driver's side cap (wanted to match stuff up on the steering) and dropped pitman arm (Better to have and not need, than need and not have), so it was right at $450 shipped. If you just got the crossover steering setup it would probably be around $270 shipped which is a damn good deal IMO.
Image

Going to finish up the blower stuff before this weekend (hopefully), then start on the steering and possibly airbag suspension next week. No use making it safe before I make it fast, I always say.
