Any use of the fudge word typically brings out the whAt? filter, unless you capitalize the first letter, like I did when I started that last sentence with it.

And no, I definitely didn't have enough beer. I'm doing it in the shop at work, they frown at alcohol there. :(

The old lady did bring me a couple beers when she stopped by the other night. 8)

Got to work an hour early today  and made my cold pipe. That's all I got done because they put me on the dredge. Dunno how late I'm gonna be running, but I do know I'm not getting anything else done on the Dodge tonight. :?

You going to weld the inside as well?

I did weld it, then ground it off and burred the inside. Hoping to help the air get through that sharp edge a little easier.

Test run went pretty good, I've got a tracking problem where the belt wants to jump forward a groove on my drive pulley, a flanged idler would probably stop that, and my tensioner assembly sticks out a bit too far. Gonna bust its mount loose and scootch it back a hair, then try it again.

It's dead silent at an idle so far, a little bump in throttle gives a little whine though. I'll have to bump up my idle a hair anyways, that thing is mounted so far off the side it's rattling everywhere. I don't think I'd be able to keep screws tight on it if I let it vibrate like it is.

I know nothing about those chargers,so keep that in mind as I ask this :)

Does it have sealed bearings? What lubes it? Does it have an reservoir or something?

Yup, it's got its own little, sealed gearbox. I'll grab a couple pics of it, I'm about to fill it up now.

Supposedly good for a lifetime, but I had to split mine so I could press the pulley back on. It calls for special oil but rumor has it any good, synthetic 10w30 will work.

Here ya go, Ellis.

Little black Allen plug is to fill at, dunno if it runs out or not but recommended amount is 8oz.

Inside the beast. Looks pretty low-stress IMO, maybe having a butterfly randomly opening and shutting off its air supply is rough on it or something but I see this thing living the easy life on a diesel.

Don't do the flanged idler. It will still walk and cut the grooves off the belt. Find out what is aligned wrong and fix it. It may be the tensioner set up is the problem if you say it's forward too much. Or it may be an idler is bent or tilted a little causing it to track wrong.

Easy life? If 9k rpms is easy, then ok. ;)

:hs:

I just spent the last 7hours getting bent over by that 7.3 tensioner assembly. I'm not talking over a table or something, I'm talking full-blown ankle grabbing. I'm completely serious in saying I used more cutting wheels on this bracket than I have on the rest of the entire setup. I've cut it off over 5 times and I was so sure it was right this last time I really burnt it in with the big welder. Needless to say it's crooked as fkcu. As in throwing two ribs off now instead of one crooked.

I believe I found my problem though, I've been trying to line up the tensioner pulley to the blower pulley and then welding it but for whatever reason that makes it crooked compared to the drive pulley. I think this may all center around my cold pipe TBH, like I was saying I went into work an hour early so I could get something done to it that day and I think I may not have had all my mount bolts tight.

Shit, I don't know, I'll just head in there when I wake up tomorrow and try it all again. I'll probably try to do it on the truck though, right now I'm doing it on a workbench then taking it over and bolting it on the truck. It's getting old. :/

Is the tensioner to far forward or the s\c to far back? I can't tell from the pics. All I know is any time I've tried to fab something up with a belt I have a heck of a time getting it lined up perfect.
