Oh, and here's a little vid of my bypass not opening far enough. I tested out a heavier spring on my bypass and it wouldn't let it open far enough. I noticed it was pulling really slowly, so I looked down and noticed my gauge was down in the vacuum. I let off the throttle, then decided to just say fkcu it and hit 4th and rolled into it to see how much total boost I was getting. 20psi.

I used a fishing scale (pull type) to measure the spring I put on my waste gate. It may not be really accurate, but it gives me an idea of how much the spring tension is. I went thru about 6 springs in my collection before I found a 10 pounder.

I'm a fatty, Pete, no scales allowed at my house. :P

I'm actually back to square one on my springs, it turns out the diaphragm inside that actuator busted. Guess 40+ psi is no bueno on the Eaton actuator.

I ordered a cheapie wastegate actuator with 2 ports off EBay, I'll rig itnup the same way and hope it'll handle the boost, then start again with the spring tuning.

You could try a small air cylinder, there are tons of them on e-bay, and Surplus Center has a decent selection too.

I like the dual port setup because I can put interstage pressure on the upper port of the actuator. That helps hold it closed without having a giant spring do it. Once the turbo actually starts to pull some of the boost out if the interstage side, it will let the manifold pressure start opening the TB.

The faster the turbo spools, the harder it pulls the vacuum on it and gets it open faster. It seems to work really well, I just didn't expect that actuator to explode. I spent a good bit of time trying to tune a system that wasn't working at all.

It functioned correctly a couple time at the beginning, I know it won't pull a real vacuum even on a legit, full-bore pull.

Little love for Mr. DodgeFreak.

Test fit on the H1c, it fits with plenty of room to wiggle the turbine through its play, but it can't fully seat since it's a different mounting setup. Still better than 1/2 the blades in there.

Post paint. I painted everything so it wouldn't get rusty, you'll just have to sand it off all the mating surfaces, mang.

Very, clamp the part that bands to the CHRA and it's already pretty much centered. Just a couple taps/turns to get it perfect. It was more of a mental thing than anything, this is the first thing I saw when I turned it on for a test spin.

(Not really worth a YouTube upload)
http://s40.photobucket.com/user/Tacocla ... 6.mp4.html

Well, that was at 60rpm and my first spin was at 290, but still. I didn't think there was anyway that bar would go in there without getting destroyed. Turns out it was just an optical illusion, plenty of clearance once the bar was back inside the housing. I glued the WG flap laws with silicone but that was about it.

Also, PM me your address. There wasn't enough left of your shipping box to see it.

Finally have a working aftercooler again, bought a universal power steering reservoir and hooked hoses to places I assumed they went.

Now to get this bypass figured out and see what this pig has in it.

I think there may be some truth to colder air making more power in our engines, I broke the tires loose in a 4th gear roll, doing about 50mph. Maybe all these people talking about all there 4th and 5th gear burnouts just live in cooler air.

Anyways, I'd like to thank you, BC. Do you ever get tired of writing out epic how-to's? I used yours to do my weather stripping. No way I woulda tried it without it, I even had to peruse it for about 4 months before I had the balls to give it a shot.

I now have well-sealed windows. :)

Not a lot to take pics of, but my seals came apart in many pieces. All of them, even the ones that's definitely weren't supposed to.

All fresh and new. 8)

I also tested my brake booster, it's wasted. Probably gonna be going hydraulic extremely soon. I'm almost positive the majority of my blowby is just coming from my vacuum pump dumping air into my crankcase. :?
