If your going to remove the trans later, id just run a cable in the cab. Unless you find everything you need for the kickdown cheap.

Why don't you just do a manual vb?

I figure I'd need some kind of floor shifter to use a manual VB, it'd be easier to go back to manual if I didn't have to make a mount for it. Not to mention the extra $200 I'd have in one.

I'll just run it as is and see how I like it. Does anyone see a problem with using a pull cable for the TV cable? The one I'm using for my shutoff I can pull out and lock wherever I want.

With a manual VB I don't see a issue but I'm not sure how a stock VB will handle it.

I don't think you'll have a problem with it... I'd mark the cable so you know about where the arm is at. worst you'll do is smoke the trans if you get on it without moving the lever lol...

I might be interested later on. Right now I've got to many iron's in the fire. I'm thinking I'll just wait until I convert it over to 4wd and do all the upgrades at once. But I need to get one of my other trucks road worthy.

its tempting and would be lots of fun in the end lol.....but I might as well be dead lol. Plus I'm not opposed to having a 3rd.

Taco, I've seen guys just use a steel bar for a shifter. Short linkage and some kind of a pivot point and good to go. You do need to be careful not to manually shift and pop it into reverse, no stops on that puppy!

DF, We had 1, and I didn't want another and thought about doing it, but didn't. Next thing I know, "honey, I'm pg..." I went and did it then. It doesn't change anything, you just need to be careful for a couple weeks lifting, then back to normal. If you don't mind another, then go for it! ;)

Hmmm, I do have a giant hole in the floor now... Wouldn't be too hard to hack out a gate setup to keep that from happening.

Hmmm... I'm going to keep this simple for now, Pete.

As an aside though, does anyone have a source for the little rubber bushings that are throughout the shift linkage? It seems I lost one, maybe two, somewhere along the line. The ones that the steel rods snap into.

I'll get a pic of them tomorrow, DF, I didn't notice your post. Surely their some sort of wear item I can get somewhere. I'll check RockAuto later on.

Got my brake lines ran and the prop valve in place. I'll yank the factory mounting studs and mount it solid off a spacer if it actually works.

I will say that just with my solo bleeding of the slaves into a cup filled with fluid, the brake pedal has resistance right as it comes off the stops. It's nuts, I've never had it do that before, even after a legitimate bleeding with two people doing it.

You were denied, not promised. :P

An adjustable prop valve would make them a lot easier though..........

Ho-lee-sthi, is it possible to have a vehicle declared unfit for road use because the brakes are too good?

Even glancing at that brake pedal has the front brakes locking up like it's their job. I have to really put some pressure on the pedal to get the rears to lock up, even on ice, but I have the prop backed all the way off and aren't completely sure they're totally bled.

I still can't believe the brakes are that touchy now though, right off the light stop has the brakes starting to work.

I will say it took forever to bleed the power steering though.
