Sounds like some adjustments are needed. Is there a way to adjust the proportioning valve? And am even close in my think that with that properly set up it'll help some?

Yup, I've got the rear adjusted all the way out. That post does seem to make it sound bad, but I'm freakin' pumped with my brakes now. I never thought I'd have brakes like this, no matter how much stuff I threw at that truck.

Once the weather get a little nicer I'll start sending some more pressure to the rear until I'm happy with the bias.

I have another question....isn't a manual prop illegal?? not that it matters really to me..but I didn't think they are "dot" approved. And I'm glad you have brakes. I'm going to do that up grade just waiting till I start the 4wd swap.

You could get a line lock and put it on the front end so when enabled you just hit the brakes and release, the line lock holds pressure on the front while the rears are free. Boom easy burnout

If he would have ran the prop valve to the inside he'd just have to dial it to the front and it'd be the same. dial it back for driving.

They're probably illegal, but what isn't anymore? They'd have to crawl under the truck on the passenger side and look inside the driver's framerail to see it, so I'd have to screw up pretty bad before it became an issue. I'd say all of us ditching the factory ABS is just as illegal anyway. ;)

Thie last thing this poor truck needs is more holes punched in it.
I'll just leave it where it is and reach in behind the tire to adjust it.

Honestly i havent deleted my abs......only because it doesn't work lol. The only time youd have a problem is if you wrecked. Did you find the rest of the stuff for your auto??

Here's some shots of the hoses and whatnot, I took about 3/4" out of the rod and welded it back together. Pedal is roughly in the same spot. I had to bend the inlet line to the steering box just a bit to clear the return line. Nothing major, I just pulled it toward me some with my hand.

And here's those little rubber things, one is missing and one is still in its hole. I doubt they're that necessary, I'll probably make my own rod with some rod ends there.

Levi....those bushings can be bought in a Kit thru O'Reilly. They're in the dorman help section part# 14041,this is straight off their Web site for the commercial side.

Thanks, mang. 8)

Had some time after work so I decided to try something out. I saw on DTR where a fellow also thought the parabolic leaves were crazy oversprung, so he was trying some other stuff with them. I saw where he mentioned pulling the support leaf and just running the main leaf. So I said hell with it and yanked my leafs out to try it.

Driver's side leaf fit perfect, passenger side wouldn't because the upper spring plate hit the diff before it tightened down on the leaf. Not sure how dude managed to do his. :?

Anyway, it actually sits kinda nice, plenty of arch left in the spring and it probably dropped it about an inch. My rear leaves have sagged that much, so it kinda seemed to level it back out.

I'm going to keep messing with these leaves for now, I just can't find a place to mount a panhard on this thing. I've got an idea for one, but it would have to be integrated into the airbag mounts on both sides and I honestly just don't feel like screwing with it right now.

I could only do the DS spring, the passenger side wouldn't work. (Explained above :P ). I'll try again tomorrow with a couple of the rear leaves I was running before.
