My local ^@#$% shop burned me again.

There's just no way we can put that cooler in, theres just no where to put it..

I got the trans flushed and new fluid put in though. But *@&! the truck sat there for 4 days.

This is what happens when I try to take shortcuts, now I have to take it to a real shop (170 miles away).

That cooler could technically be mounted anywhere. You could run lines from the engine and the trans to wherever you mounted it. Hell, you could even spiral some copper line on its way back to the cooler to cool the water down even more before it gets there. ;)

The "real" shop is balking at it too. They are not willing to take it on due to the time and thought into building a bracket to mount it. I contacted BC847 on DTR, I hope he can at least send me a blueprint on his homemade bracket. My brother has an HVAC shop and bends tin all the time, so maybe he could build it.

BC is a mod on here too you know. He hits here alot during the day.
It's not that hard to fab up a bracket if you have some skills. It doesn't have to be pretty because it's underneath, just saying, ya know?

I also found another cheap dual needle pressure gauge, https://www.surpluscenter.com/item.asp? ... me=engines

I responded to you over there. Oops. ;)

Again, I just made a bracket that nests between the two rails that make up the transmission skid-plate.

^ Daaaaaaaaayuuuuum.

Head, if you've got access to an oxy-acetylene torch, a vice, and a hammer you can make steel do any damn thing you want it to. That's generally how I make the brackets and braces for my truck. If they're hidden enough they can be as ugly as sin and nobody will know. 8)

I took ag and auto class when I was in high school, but I was too busy goofing off and never learned that stuff unfortunately.

This is the perfect thing to learn on, man. A simple bracket with a couple of mounting holes in it. If it were me I'd probable make a plate that I could bolt to the framerail somewhere, then cut up the factory bracket 'till had a flat back and then weld or bolt it to the plate.

Well I ordered a large Derale cooler to replace the inadequate one I have now. Its going on within a few weeks.

I haven't been on diesel sites much in the past month. I have been bitten by the gold/silver bug and have been spending way to much money stacking lately. Its kind of cool to have physical ownership of a little bullion though.

Yup, guess I'll be heading to Wyoming for my bullion supplies when the world collapses. :P

I've already got an alternator and voltage regulator stashed in a Faraday cage, just in case.

Why go to Wyoming? You can get Boullion in the grocery store.

I'm stacking some brass and lead as well. But silver is more fun.
