Even if your truck for some reason doesn't like that much timing.... once skipped a tooth you can still retard it back. If skipped a tooth and retarded all the way back puts you about 3ish degrees advanced from stock.... so why not? be a good time to do your ksb and check the torques on all the internal bolts while you are in there.

Good advice right here! 3weeks after we replaced the engine in my truck I had a fastener back out in the timing case assembly. It blew through the timing case, and fell between two gears and was sounding like a supercharger. It was a double case of bad luck that month I guess.

You've got more than timing to get dialed in. Wastegate and AFC settings will really affect how the truck does with twins and all that fuel as well.

So if you're dealing with a Kentucky or WV truck you're only gonna find about 20* max.

im only missing one tooth\, lol. i have a stock spring with the star wheel up a little more than half way. i want to loosen it up some, but i guess i cross threaded it some how, so now it will only go up from where its at now.

I'm in the process of building a needle valve/boost elbow type regulator for my afc. I have my low boost setting up as high as possible. I'm trying to rid as much smoke as possible.

The way David has his afc set up is the best overall..... but there are stronger afc spring options if you didn't wanna have more "stuff" under the hood

I ran across his setup a while back. It never occurred to me then that I'd be running this big of an injector. I'll have to look his up again. I have a pedestal in my can right now with the needle valve/boost elbow deal I was talking about earlier already. I used I to dial in my wsstgate for a little more midrange pull with my twins. I have another port sitting there ready to be uses. I like it because it's on the fly, no getting in and out. I'll take a pic of it when I get home.
