Nikon prostaff 550? Best rangefinder I've ever used, quick, accurate, no bs on it. Rockstar tastes like crap.

For anyone who cares...

There are 72 teeth on the pump gear, but since the IP turns half the speed of the engine, it means 10 degrees per tooth instead of 5. ;)

This is what it will look like if you advance your timing by one tooth. Stock means the O and the E line up. One advanced means O and C lines up. Don't be like JQmile and retard it a tooth. :P

(turn your pump gear clockwise in relation to your cam gear to advance it)

This is the pressure switch I was talking about for my KSB. (on my intake horn) I got it from Napa for like $35 or so. You can pull the rubber plug out of the end of it and adjust the pressure it makes at. I used a Druck at work to set it and it makes at 19.4-19.7 or so psi. 8) This is the upper range at which you can set this switch. Napa carries others for different pressure ranges, but you need to check the deadband on them, as some have more than I would want. You can use these things to control solenoids for wastegates or whatever. ;-)

I use it for larger critters, cyotes and stuff of that nature. It's kinda hard to range squirrels accurately out to longer distances without a land mark. 6x power isnt all that much. But it gets me close, and I can then dial it down more accurately. Then I can eliminate the colony. Rockstars are the worst thing for you. But I'm not a coffee drinker. I need a kick in the morning.

Ahineman that's a slick setup. I appreciate your experience and knowledge. I had one of those "why didn't I think of that" moments when you spoke of the three way switch, along with the pressure switch.

It's just a switch that is off when in the middle position and on when up or down. I've just got 12v going straight to the ksb when it's up, nothing happens when it's in the middle, and 12v going to the pressure switch when it's down. When the pressure switch sees 20psi it closes and the 12v goes to the ksb.

Will the ksb turn off once the pressure switch doesn't read 20psi? I'm asking to try and eliminate the switch in the cab it would be like runing it in the switch in the downward position on urs constantly

Pressure switch is open when boost is below setpoint.

Re-read my earlier post.
It came from Napa. ;)

Yes, it would. But you have to adjust the pressure switch because it is not set for 20 psi when new. Also, the three position switch was like $10 or something at Napa. You may like being able to turn it on manually when it's cold to reduce haze.

Do you have the spacer, HIneman? Just curious on if you can still turn the ksb at an idle with it. My truck darn near stalls with it on at an idle. It actually drops the rpm about 400 rpms, but the weird thing is it takes ALL the rattle out of the engine.... the darn thing literally sounds like a gasser, no joke.

No. I'm not sure if the timing piston was modified. I didn't ask.

Does remind me to bring up what I just did. It is common for some to have issues with the ksb, once one uses the spacer. I know it made mine inop, meaning it just gives it way too much timing when it's on. However, I have never tried to drive it with it on, so I might actually gain at eighty bagillion rpms.

Mine seems to pull harder with the ksb on, but I rarely use it.
