If you have a 5 speed, I believe you'll still have to move the crossmember back on that '85.
There's a distinct break point in the frames @ 1988, which was when the trannies started getting longer due to overdrives.
Along with the spacing, the 2WD crossmembers for the overdrive auto and 5 speed trucks got a total restyle.

Also, the pre-overdrive (we'll still go with 1988 here) 4WD crossmembers are shorter, from front to rear, than the aforementioned later era.
This also changed the bolt pattern of the crossmember.

Look at both your 1990, then the R/C and a lot of this will jump out at you.

Mark.

I'm running no shroud and electric fans, so I should be alright in that regard. One question since you're here, though. Since this is an 85 RC with the 727, will my transmission x-member line up or will it still be a hole back? I see people having to bump them back a hole, but they all seem to be going with OD transmissions.

Oh, and Head, this was the first RC I had ever seen that didn't have a red interior. I thought they all did.

We went over this already lol. They did do a nice job at converting it over though other than the engine crossmember and the Dana 60 rear.

Sorry, Justin,I'll try to actually pay attention next time we talk. :P

Back to the truck, it turns out that most 65mm turbine S300's are actually built off of an S300g center. Since the g's have a smaller backing plate than a normal S300, I'm pretty much stuck with this housing. D-tech apparently sticks the 62mm wheel on and makes a custom housing for it. No biggie, I'll just be back to the setup I was running back on the very first page of this thread, but with actual silicone couplers instead of rubber.

I'm not throwing it away, I'm selling it. :P

I don't mind getting rid of it all, this truck is really just a time sink for me and that setup has performed it's job beautifully. If I hadn't spent all that time fabbing and head-scratching, I would have been playing computer/Xbox or out drinking. Even if I ditch all the work I'd still keep the experience, and the pics. 8)

^^^ This!

TacoBell, I like your way of thinking, there is nothing as good as learning something you can use later on.
All getting drunk does is kill brain cells, as does playing video games.
I would like to add that, IMHO, women are a sink hole for money disappear into (good to "play with", though  ), so they are counterproductive to a good truck build.

I dunno, Mark, I did throw out a lot of time I could have been chatting with hot babes on the Internet.

I probably should have fabbed up a set of triples, because I still found plenty of drinking time. :D

Chatting with allegedly "hot" babes on the internet doesn't get you laid. Might better work on the truck and then go cruising for real babes. ;)

That's what you get for answering my drunken texts. Everyone else knows not to, you're just new. Also, I know full well what kind of quality I'm dipping into over in Meigs county, that's why I always make sure I'm too drunk to drive before I text you.

I ain't done sthi to the Dodge recently. I put the turbo back together so a buddy could haul some hay and it's been sitting ever since. It's almost depressing.
