Thought I should update this a bit. I haven't made a ton of progress, but stuff is happening slowly.
I Baffled the oil pan. Cleaned and blasted the inside of the pan in the weld areas. Most of the pan is double walled, which was a bitch to weld when the oily goo between the plates heated up and blew out into the weld. Good smokey times. :smokin:
I made my own trap door baffle for the center divider. Yes, they are door hinges from the local Ace hardware. :f2:
Completed with horizontal baffles.
torquing up the new head bolts.
Bringing in the 14 bolt for tear down/clean up.
Getting ready to tear apart the front 60 in my garage. The Ford 1 ton brakes are ridiculous.
I also redid the rear lower cross member in the frame to extend back further to protect the T-case. I also decided to narrow it 1". The outside of the "frame" measures 31" wide, about 2 1/4" narrower than a YJ frame. I'm running narrowed axles, so I figured all the tire clearance I can get is important.
Fitting the trans/t-case to build a trans mount.
This will support the trans and the t-case. I don't see a need to run a tail support with this.
