Loctite the front seal and run at least 15psi at idle and 30+ under boost. I run an AirDog II at 35psi all the time. I also wouldn't put anything crazier than a 3200 spring in, 14mm pumps don't like rpm. Use big injectors, 6x16 or 5x18, and run lots of timing....close to 30 degrees if you're on fuel. They seem to live alright, as long as you don't rpm 'em, or starve them for fuel.

I currently run a 4k spring although I never spin it past 3200 theirs no point it defules as far as supporting mods I will be running an hx35 over an ht3b and have read that 5x18 injectors are a must to keep the 14 alive I was looking into Rocken tech products 14mm head and they claim u can spin it to whatever rpm u want as long as u have the fuel to do so I deffidently need to pull the pump off to do this right? And also would ..93 lines be neccasary/benifitcial? This is a street driven truck that will be at the drag strip very frequently and if im feeling frogy and wanna hook to a sled I'd like to be able to

Yup, you need to the pull the pump. Actually, you should probably have a shop install it, if you have the dough, just don't let em run it on a test stand, most shops use itty bitty injectors which can kill it. I wouldn't buy the rpm thing, I know people who have killed 12mm pumps by trying to make power over 4K. I'd also skip on the lines until you do everything else.

I'm the kind of person who likes to do things myself I have a spare ve pump laying around and theirs a guy on the Internet w an extensive how to video book and pictures on rebuilding the ve yourself but if I were to take it to a shop how much cash are we talking? I never plan on spinning it up to much less past 4k bc847 shifts his 12mm at 3200 and runs 13.flat in the quarter to clearly rpm is not the ticket to big power I've just heard bad rumors about the 14mm rotor head kills the ve life u said before a good lift pump system is needed too. Correct?

Most of the 14mm VE deaths can be attributed to either too little lift pump pressure, too much rpm, too small of an injector, or a combo of all three. I'd recommend an Air Dog 165 at least. A few years ago a lot of sled pullers were trying 14mm VE's, and trying to leave the line at 4K-4500rpm. That didn't work, but you can't blame em for trying. I know a lot of street trucks on here (KTA, BGilbert, Jayers, STOMP, and me) who have been running 14mm pumps for years reliabily.

I don't know anyone who has run 5x18s, but I don't see why they wouldn't work well. I make just as much on fuel with my 5x25s as I did with 6x16s, if not more.

Where is the best place to buy a 14mm head/rotor. Also saw there was a 4mm cam plate available. Any thoughts on it?

The ONLY place that I know of is Rocken Tech, for both..... I'm under the impression...ok well I know, that CPP is getting theirs from Rocken Tech. Also I'm not sure if anyone has EVER made the 4mm camplate work and not seize the pump.
