The original and its replacement set are Schied EDM 6x0.016, 145*
The folks at Schied can have them flow-honed if I insist.
I am interested in assuring they are flow-matched. That apparently introduces flow-honing after the initial EMDing. That and any subsequent machine work with the nozzles is all over the map as far as who agrees with what's a good/working step. Geez, even obtaining actual flow characteristics of a given nozzle can apparently be fraught with inaccurate information.
As best as I can figure, given the sometimes almost cryptic answers to a seemingly simple question, the
correctly done EDMed nozzle will perform better in terms of better throttle response. This isn't to suggest they make more power. Just perhaps a little "Crisper" down-low.
I've read Weston say, and I'll comfortably agree without being in the business myself, A perfectly good set of EDM nozzles can be hacked with subsequent AFM. It's apparently all about who does it, and how.
It's clear-cut as hell.
