Need opinions on a 3rd gen intercooler.

Postby m880cummins » Sun Oct 28, 2012 6:51 pm

YES, I KNOW they are BIG!!! I like the width of them and the position of the intake/outlet. My question is, how thick are they and how wide? I'm thinking of getting one because I can cut it down to work with the stock rad support, TIG weld plates over the chopped off ends and make some custom brackets. I need to know the width before I waste time searching for one. I have the IC rad support and plan to run air conditioning so need to know the thickness before I decide on it.

Thanks

Charlie

This is all I found so far:

I don't see the point in a different than stock IC rad. It cools better than a NONIC rad, I know that.

It seems if I centered the intercooler it wouldn't require much work other than cutting 8-9 rows off the bottom. I can deal with that....

If you like where the inlets and outlets are, have you looked at a 7.3L cooler or, heaven forbid, one of those huge ricer intercoolers? I've seen well respected members of this site pull both off without any ill effects.
