An hx35 is one inch longer than a h1c. That is because of the wastegated housing. Honestly your not gonna pay 7 or 800 for a reman hx35,hell you can rebushing the core you have and go to Gillet diesel service and buy the 60mm upgrade for less than 400$ And there is ZERO machining required. Now....your keeping your existing exhaust housing doing that but your brake is left as is.
On the other hand if you go 12cm housing-ed hx35 the whole exhuast runs back about an Inch on normal trucks, looking at you down pipe/brake assembly I think I see some room.
If you go fancy turbo and have to use that flang,I think there will be some serious pipe mods to consider. Or cutting and angling of the adaptor. I more than likely would cut up the adaptor and make it work out.
Anyway you go you'll do well by your truck and non of them will make you sorry you fooled with it.
In my opinion.....if money wasn't a concern Id go big fancy Hungry Diesel turbo and deal with the pipe. Sadly....money is always a concern with me
